If you would like to purchase outside of the wishlist, please see below for a breakdown of what is needed by grade, and students can bring the items with them to school by Wednesday, November 20th. Social Emotional Learning at CCA

Right now, our students are learning about empathy and compassion in their Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons through Second Step, the SEL curriculum is utilized by CCA and the Cherry Creek School District. Second Step is curriculum designed to be taught in the classroom and in small group interventions. In addition to teaching specific skills related to bullying prevention, it
teaches social emotional skills related to emotional awareness and regulation, anger management, impulse control, and empathy. For more information on Second Step, please click
here.
Students are learning that compassion is empathy in action. Make sure to ask your students about this and all of the SEL lessons they've had this year.

Please remember to log your volunteer hours regularly. This year we are giving a volunteer report at each board meeting that includes data about how many volunteers we have, the services they are performing, and how many hours we have accumulated as a community. It is important that all volunteer hours are logged, even after a family completes their required hours (20 hours for single parent homes and 40 hours for two parent households).
If you have any questions about volunteering at CCA, please email the Volunteer Coordinator at
[email protected]
. For volunteer account information, or to make changes to your volunteer account, please email Chelsea Anderson, CCA's Communications Director, at
[email protected]
.
