Dear CCA Families

This letter is meant to provide an update to both our 5-8 CCA families and our K-4 CCA families. While some of the information is targeted for 5-8 families only and/or  for K-4 families only, we continue to believe that by informing all CCA families about what is happening within our community that we stay connected and united as a CCA community.

With the approval of the CCA Board on August 6, 2020 to have our students in Grades 5-8 engaged in 100% remote/virtual learning we began our school year with a consistent synchronous model five days a week for our middle school students.  Over the last few weeks we have read and heard about several classroom cohorts in our area that have had to switch from the hybrid model to remote/virtual learning due to COVID quarantine requirements.  We are thankful that our model has allowed us to provide a consistent and safe opportunity for our middle school children to learn and grow.  We are committed to doing all that we can to give our CCA middle school students a high quality education given the constraints of the COVID pandemic. You will notice our middle school teachers shifting, adjusting and doing what they can to meet the unique needs of each middle school student each day.  In the coming weeks you will see more opportunities for additional, “normal” middle school experiences such as Peer Helpers and Student Council begin to unfold.  In addition you will soon hear more about middle school Reflection Days which will occur every 3-4 weeks and will give each student a chance to meet one-on-one with their homeroom teacher to review grades, check in on their learning progress, and share feedback with us so that we can continually improve.

CCA middle school will continue with our grades 5-8 virtual/remote plan until CCSD indicates that all CCSD and CCA Middle School students can return to full In-Person Learning. You can follow the metrics that CCSD is using in their Planning Forward 2020-2021  as they make the decision to return us to In-Person Learning.  We believe that once the green light is given and the restrictions are lifted that we will be able to return our students a safe learning environment.

We continue to ask that families of children in grades K-4 use the following tool to Determine if you can send your child to school today.  It is critically important that all K-4 families use this tracker each day so that you know if your child should come to school and so that you are doing all that you can to keep our K-4 children safe. Every CCA staff member is required to use this tracker each and every day.  No staff member reports to work if they have a “red” indicator on the tracker.

If a child or a CCA staff member reports that they are ill we follow this flowchart to assess if the individual is showing major or minor COVID symptoms:   “Assessing  ill students and staff members
We also use this tool to determine our next steps

Our Nurse Jayne is required to fill out this COVID Tracker and begins the process with CCSD to identify and track any ill student or staff member and to determine our course of action.  Eventually it is our goal to determine when and if a child/staff member can return to School/Work safely by following this flowchart.  All of these tools help us prepare and respond during this pandemic.

Here at CCA we are doing all that we can to have overlapping strategies to mitigate our risks and to keep our students and staff safe.  Every K-4 student is confined to their individual cohort and our staff roles and responsibilities have shifted to accommodate the restrictions we are under. Every member of our community continues to wear masks.  We are dedicated to washing hands, sanitizing our work spaces and deep cleaning.  We know that the time spent keeping us safe can be exhausting and frustrating for both children and staff but we are committed to using the tools that we know can mitigate our risks.

Although it may seem that our CCA community is divided with one part of our team, our K-4 students here in person and the other part of our team, our 5-8 students online, we want to remind you that we are One United CCA Community and all of our actions are meant to support our mission to work together and provide an excellent education in an environment that upholds our high academic expectations and our values of leadership, responsibility, respect, loyalty, integrity, humility, diligence and compassion.  Our staff is entirely committed to bringing the best possible education that we can for your children.  Thank you for your continued partnership.

If you have any questions about the issues shared above, please feel free to contact me at or on my cell phone at 920-216-9111.

Announcement from Food and Nutrition Services
Dear Cherry Creek Academy Parents,

I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself, my name is Leia Paul, and am the Site Lead for the CCA kitchen. I cannot tell you how excited the CCSD Food Nutrition Services Department is to be a part of your children's lives here at school. We look forward to providing your kids delicious, nutritious meals every day. My staff and I have enjoyed getting to know your children. Please click here to visit our website if you would like to learn more about our program. Click here to visit the Titan Family Portal where you will have access to menus and your students account information.

At breakfast we offer the same options from week to week and each meal includes an entree, one milk, and up to two fruit options. At lunch, we rotate on a four-week cycle, which means our menu will repeat every four weeks. Every Wednesday is Domino's pizza day, and we will always offer both cheese and pepperoni pizza as well as a third entree option. With each meal, your child may choose one entree, one milk, two vegetables and one fruit if they would like. We offer a large variety of fruits and vegetables including but not limited to strawberries, blueberries, peas, carrots, and celery for your children to choose from.

I also wanted to thank you for your patience during these first couple of weeks as our food numbers were based solely on predictions of what options we thought your children might enjoy.

Please know we are adjusting these ratios as necessary and are working diligently to ensure your child has their favorite option available every day. I look forward to working with your children and I am excited for the upcoming year.

  • K-4 Picture Day

  • Schoolhouse Talk: 8:05 - 9:05 am
  • Schoolhouse Talk is a monthly opportunity for CCA Administration, Staff, and Parents to connect with one another in a friendly and relaxed setting. A discussion at Schoolhouse Talk is different from our CCA Board and Committee Meetings because these conversations are meant to be more casual, without a predetermined agenda or formal action items. We can't entertain discussions about specific staff or students, but this is a great opportunity to start or participate in a conversation about broader issues affecting our community.

  • Communications Committee Meeting: 9:05 - 10:00 am
  • This committee is responsible for CCA's annual Teacher Service Awards, quarterly reports to parents regarding volunteer hours logged and associated volunteer nametags, school-tour oversight and organization of the Town Hall meetings and other special events. This committee also works with administration to implement communication strategies to help keep parents informed. Please click here for the Communication Committee Agendas and Minutes.
