The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. Announces the 2025 Arne M. Sorenson Excellence in Leadership Awards 


Washington, D.C. – 5/1/25The Board of Directors of The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. is pleased to announce the 2025 Arne M. Sorenson Excellence in Leadership Awards will be presented June 16, 2025 during a lunch featuring David Rubenstein in a conversation with Vicki Hollub, President and CEO, Occidental.



The Arne M. Sorenson Excellence in Leadership Awards were created to honor the former President and CEO of Marriott International, Inc., who served on the Economic Club's Board of Directors from 2017-2021. Mary Brady, President and CEO, explained, "The Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose outstanding achievements and contributions to the Economic Club and the community demonstrate the Club's mission to strengthen our region through business, civic, diplomatic, and philanthropic leadership."

 

The attributes of this award are reflected in Chairman David Rubenstein’s description of Mr. Sorenson, "Talented, thoughtful, compassionate, and generous with his time. Arne was the best that America can hope for from its business leaders and will long remain a role model for aspiring and active CEOs and community leaders. The Club was fortunate to have his engagement."
