Employer Connections Portal Workshop Next Week
The Daytona Regional Chamber is proud to collaborate with Volusia Flagler SHRM, CareerSource Flagler Volusia, and Volusia County Schools to offer a workshop on the Employer Connections Portal on Thursday, June 23 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. The hiring challenges being seen in our region and beyond have highlighted the need for a sound, long-term talent and workforce development strategy.

It will help students discover which local businesses match with their career pathways as they uncover their innate abilities in YouScience.

This workshop is designed for the human resources and/or hiring managers in your organization. There is no cost to attend, however an RSVP is required and seating is limited. Register today to begin identifying talent earlier and with more precision. The future of our workforce is being prepared today in our local schools.

You can show them the pathway to a successful career right here in their own community.
FL Chamber Seeks Detailed Info on State Workforce Needs
Earlier this year, the FL Chamber Foundation launched the Florida Workforce Needs Study 2.0. In partnership with the FL Chamber Foundation, the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce sought your input on “Addressing Florida’s Hiring, Recruitment, Community Partnerships, and Skills Gaps”. The first survey yielded two key findings:

  • More than 73% of Florida businesses have struggled to recruit qualified talent over the past year
  • Nearly 86% have plans to hire in the near future

The Florida Chamber Foundation is now launching Part Two of the 2.0 Survey Series, "A Deeper Look Into Desired Skillsets and Workforce Development," to further examine workforce skills needs, talent gaps, and the workforce, education and training opportunities available to help win Florida's talent war.

The Daytona Regional Chamber is again partnering on this initiative to help ensure your business has a deep and talented pool of future employees from which to hire. Please take this 10-minute survey to shape the future workforce development efforts for our state.

Florida Budget - Final Draft and Budget Cuts
One of the most important things done in a legislative session is approving the state budget. During the 2022 legislative session, the Florida House and Senate approved the largest budget in states’ history, $112.5 billion. The budget takes many forms before approval, but once approved by the House and Senate, it has to make its way through the governor’s veto pen before finally being signed.
