The Big Idea

Your Week Ahead

The September Business After Hours will be held Tuesday, September 17. Daytona Lagoon will be our host for a fun networking event that's sure to foster new connections. Don't forget to bring your parking ticket with you to the event so that it can be validated for free parking.

Due to the rainfall that we have received in the past few weeks and a forecast that calls for additional rain this week, the Business Links Golf Tournament that was originally scheduled for September 20 has been postponed to October 4. Please mark your calendars for the new date.

As we move into the final push toward the general election in November, the Daytona Regional Chamber is offering multiple resources and upcoming events to assist members in making informed decisions. From the latest Crest of the Wave podcast, the general election Voter's Guide and several upcoming events, your Chamber is focused on the issues and the candidates at the local, state, and federal levels who will promote, protect, support a vibrant business environment.

In the Things to Know section you'll read about the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Letter to Congress. The U.S. Chamber is calling on the next Congress and administration to prioritize protecting American families, workers, businesses, and the economy from higher taxes and uncompetitive policies.

Under the Resources to Bookmark section, you'll find additional resources regarding the new Child Care Tax Credit. The Florida Chamber Foundation will be hosting a webinar September 26 to explain their recently released document entitled "A Guide for Employers: Florida's Child Care Tax Credit." Take this opportunity to learn more about how your business and your employees will be impacted.

The Daytona Regional Chamber's mission is to create an environment where businesses of all sizes can thrive. Thank you for your continued partnership through your Chamber membership. We hope that you have a wonderful and productive week ahead!

Voter's Guide and Endorsements

The Daytona Regional Chamber's General Election Voter's Guide contains information on all of the candidates running for local, state and federal positions that represent our area. New to this year's guide is a link to questions completed by the candidates for office. All candidates were invited to participate. It will be indicated if there was no response to the questionnaire.

Additionally, we conducted interviews for our State of Florida Representatives and Senate races. Based on these interviews, we have endorsed candidates that we believe have a commitment to supporting businesses of all sizes, and collaborative decision making, addressing the needs of the community, and a belief structure that promotes economic growth and reflects their ability to inspire and drive positive change in our region.

We hope you will find value in our Voter's Guide as you prepare to vote for the candidates in the upcoming General on November 5, 2024.
