Head Start Celebrates 60 Years—Join the Celebration!

By Samantha Gottleib, You Thrive Florida Community Outreach Coordinator

This year marks an incredible milestone—Head Start is turning 60! For six decades, this program has provided vital early childhood education, support, and resources to families across the nation, helping millions of children thrive.

At You Thrive Florida Early Learning Programs, we are honored to be part of this legacy, making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. And now, we have a special way for everyone to join in the celebration!

Help Us Reach 1 Million Signatures!

As part of the year-long festivities, we are calling on our community to sign Head Start’s official birthday card. The goal? 1 million signatures nationwide—and we want to make sure our program plays a big role in reaching that number!

How Can You Sign? It’s Easy!

All you have to do is scan our program’s unique QR code—it will take you directly to the birthday card sign-up page. The best part? This QR code is specific to our program, meaning that every signature collected will help showcase the impact of You Thrive Florida Early Learning Programs and the incredible work we do.

By signing, you’re not just celebrating 60 years of Head Start—you’re also helping shine a spotlight on the importance of early childhood education and the difference it makes in our communities.

Let’s Make History Together!

We encourage staff, families, community partners, and supporters to sign the card and spread the word. The more signatures we gather, the more recognition our program—and the children we serve—will receive.

Join us in celebrating 60 years of Head Start and ensuring that this program continues to grow, thrive, and change lives for generations to come.

Scan the QR code above and be part of the movement! Happy 60th, Head Start!

Member Spotlight: Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure Gives Back to the Community

By Laura Murphy, Education & Outreach Coordinator at Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure

Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure is proud to be an active partner in the Daytona Beach community and surrounding areas. We have sponsored river clean-ups in collaboration with Volusia County and the International Coastal & Halifax/Indian River Cleanup Crew, working together to protect and preserve our local waterways. Supporting education and community initiatives is also a priority for us—we have donated over $30,000 of tickets to local schools for student giveaways, as well as over 1000 tickets to those on the front line in our police department and contributed numerous gift baskets to charity fundraisers.

Our commitment to giving back extends beyond conservation and education. We have offered special discounts to guests who donated canned food for Thanksgiving and provided savings in our gift shop for those supporting Toys for Tots. We take pride in these efforts and look forward to continuing our role as a positive force in the community for years to come.

Monthly Member Focus

During the month of March, members from the nonprofit and volunteerism categories will have the opportunity to submit content to be featured in The Edge newsletter, on social media, and on the Chamber website.
