The 2026 Florida Legislative Session is Underway
As the 2026 Florida Legislative Session gets underway, we are closely monitoring proposals that could have meaningful impacts on the business community and local economy. Key areas to watch include potential changes to property tax policies that may affect the cost of doing business, continued state-level preemption of local land-use authority, and legislation influencing post-disaster recovery and redevelopment issues that directly impact investment, growth, and long-term planning.
We’re also tracking legislation related to local business taxation, neighborhood improvement tools, and expanded cybersecurity requirements for local governments, all of which could influence how businesses operate, expand, and interact with local jurisdictions. Throughout the session, we are working with partners and stakeholders to evaluate impacts and advocate for policies that support a strong, predictable, and business-friendly environment.
Stay tuned for more updates as the session progresses.
