Teller Talk Tuesday: Where the Best Stories Aren’t in the History Books
By James Newman, Halifax Historical Museum Administrative Assistant
Every first Tuesday at 2:00 PM, the Halifax Historical Museum invites you to pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and settle in for Teller Talk Tuesday—a lively, informal gathering where we trade tales and local legends that never made the textbooks. From quirky business owners to unforgettable community events, the stories shared here are the kind that bring Daytona’s past to life in full color.
But here’s the thing: there are still so many stories we haven’t heard—and we know you have one. That’s why we’re asking locals and longtime residents to “make a deposit” into our community memory bank. Drop by and tell us about your first job on Beach Street, a favorite lost restaurant, or a character who helped shape your neighborhood. These memories are treasures, and we want to help preserve them.
Can’t make it in person? No problem—send us your story by email to mail@halifaxhistorical.org, and we’ll make sure it finds a voice. Because the truth is, we could talk about Halifax history forever—and with your help, we will.
