Connections over Coffee: Open RBC Group Meets Wednesday
As a business owner, making connections with other business owners in order to grow your network is crucial. Making the time to represent your business, your purpose and yourself - in addition to learning about other businesses around you - is a great way to increase visibility in the Daytona Beach region.

All members of the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce are welcome to join fellow members and staff for the Open Regional Business Connections group. This RBC Group has no limitations on the amount of businesses per industry that can attend, and each meeting features a guest presenter.

Join us for this connecting opportunity this Wednesday, June 8 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at the Chamber offices. There is no fee to attend, but advanced registration is required.

Business-to-Business Connections at the Mega Mixer Event
The Volusia County Chamber Alliance's Mega Mixer presented by Adams, Cameron & Co. Realtors and Volusia County Economic Development is back. Scheduled for this Thursday, June 9 from 4:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m., the event will take place at the Mori Hosseini Student Center at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

The Mega Mixer is an exhibition of local businesses showcasing and demonstrating their products and services to the public. It is also a great forum for networking because the event offers free admission, is open to the public to attend, and will draw from all over the region.

June Eggs & Issues: County Council Candidate Forum, Part 1
Join us for the first of two special Eggs & Issues programs sponsored by Halifax Health and Teledyne Marine, featuring Candidate Forums for those running for Volusia County Council. Being held at Halifax River Yacht Club on Thursday, June 9 from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., this is the premier event for discussion of public and legislative affairs in the Daytona Beach region.

Leadership Daytona, Class XLII Applications Now Open
The Leadership Daytona program is designed for our community’s active leaders. The three-month course features classes about current issues facilitated by high-level community leaders combining interactive situations and information into their presentations, and an MBA-style case study from a local CEO for the class to solve.

Applications are now open, and will be accepted through Friday, July 1 at noon.
Alumni Council Morning Mingle
Leadership Daytona Alumni are invited to an opportunity to connect with former classmates as well as get to know other alums when the Leadership Daytona Alumni Council hosts a Morning Mingle on Tuesday, June 14, 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. We will meet at Daytona State College in Building 140, Room 311.

Featuring great fellowship, engaging conversation, and light refreshments, the Morning Mingle is open to Leadership Daytona Alumni at no charge, however an RSVP is required to ensure proper planning.
Hiring Qualified Talent Through the Employer Connections Portal
The Daytona Regional Chamber is proud to collaborate with Volusia Flagler SHRM, CareerSource Flagler Volusia, and Volusia County Schools to offer a workshop on the Employer Connections Portal on Thursday, June 23 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. The hiring challenges being seen in our region and beyond have highlighted the need for a sound, long-term talent and workforce development strategy.

The Employer Connections Portal is an extension of the YouScience program that has been implemented in Volusia County Schools with support from the Daytona Regional Chamber and CareerSource FV. It will help students discover which local businesses match with their career pathways as they uncover their innate abilities in YouScience.

This workshop is designed for the human resources and/or hiring managers in your organization. There is no cost to attend, however an RSVP is required and seating is limited. Register today to begin identifying talent earlier and with more precision. The future of our workforce is being prepared today in our local schools.

Time To Recognize a Deserving Business or Individual
Held annually in early November, the Daytona Regional Chamber's Annual Awards Luncheon is a recognition of all that is right in our business community. The luncheon features several award recognition, including Nonprofit of the Year, Small Business of the Year, the Marvin Samuels Leadership Award and the Young Professional of the Year award.

This year's event will be taking place on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Mark your calendars now.
VYPG Young Professional of the Year Award

The Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes the achievements of a young professional in the Volusia County area. This award is presented to an individual who demonstrates a high level of leadership, strong community involvement and commitment to local business and personal growth. The complete list of eligibility criteria is listed on the application.

Marvin Samuels Memorial Leadership Award

Presented each year, the Marvin Samuels Memorial Leadership Award recognizes an individual who has gone ‘above and beyond’ in serving this community. Nominees must be current members of the Leadership Daytona Alumni Council. The complete list of eligibility criteria is listed on the application.

Small Business of the Year Award

The objective of this award is to recognize and honor businesses who have demonstrated exemplary “Best Practices.” Nominated businesses must complete the Small Business of the Year Award application to be considered. Businesses with 20 or less employees are considered Small Businesses. The complete list of eligibility criteria is listed on the application.

Nonprofit of the Year Award

This award is to recognize and honor a local 501(c)3 nonprofit (must be a Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce member) that has demonstrated exemplary “Best Practices.” The nonprofit must be in operation for a minimum of 3 years. The complete list of eligibility criteria is listed on the application.
