The Week Ahead

Veterans Day 2024 is an opportunity to express heartfelt thanks for the brave men and women who served in the military and fought for our freedoms. November 11 also kicks off National Veterans Small Business Week in support of Veteran entrepreneurs. The Daytona Regional Chamber office is closed Veterans Day in observance of the holiday.


The 4th Annual Soft Skills Youth Summit will take place Tuesday, November 12. Over 100 high school students from across the county will learn the basics of these critical skills from Daytona Regional Chamber member volunteers. We are thankful for members who have stepped up to mentor the next generation of our workforce.


Join us Thursday, November 14, for Eggs & Issues brought to you by Halifax Health and Lifestyle Realty Group. BRIDGEx: BANK Code: November 20

BANK Code for Business, presented by Wells Fargo, will be the final BRIDGEx session of 2024. Teresa Rand, Rand Consulting, will lead an exciting session where attendees will discover how to maximize what they learn through a short 90-second assessment called BANK that shows your personality and how to quickly identify others' personalities. This concept may be used to personalize sales techniques, emails, and marketing messages to your clients based on how and why they buy. Hurricane Recovery

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation has launched the Small Business Hurricane Recovery grant program in partnership with American Express to support small businesses impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. 


The program will provide $5 million in funding, distributing $5,000 grants to 1,000 eligible small businesses across the Southeast to support their recovery and help them build resilience against future disasters. 


The deadline to apply is coming up quickly, so don't delay. Eligible small businesses can apply now until Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.


What you need to know:


The program will provide a $5,000 grant to 1,000 selected businesses that meet eligibility requirements, including but not limited to the following criteria: 


- Located in SBA disaster-declared counties  

- Financially harmed and cannot cover costs  

- Have between 1-25 employees
