MEMPHIS STATE OF EDUCATION REPORT 2024

We are excited to present our 2024 Memphis State of Education Report. Over the past four years, our community, just as thousands across the country, has faced the unprecedented challenge of educating students during a pandemic. In Memphis, data suggests that performance is at or near pre-pandemic levels.

Community and school leaders are still working tirelessly to recover the academic, social, and emotional setbacks that occurred during one of the most devastating events in recent history.

You can view our full report here: Memphis State of Education Report 2024

Over the next few weeks, Memphis Education Fund will host several community conversations, by region, to discuss the trends and opportunities relative to each neighborhood that we visit. We'd love for you to join us. Please register for any of the in-person events below. Refreshments will be provided, and schools supplies will be given away.

2024 TCAP DATA FOR 3RD AND 4TH GRADE

Data released by the state on Thursday, June 13th, indicated Memphis-Shelby County Schools 3rd and 4th grade students made gains on the English/Language Arts (ELA) portion of the 2024 TCAP assessment.

We love to see improvement, which is why Memphis Education Fund continues to invest in programs like Summer Boost by Bloomberg Philanthropies and other programs with evidence-based strategies focused on strengthening early literacy skills.

Let’s talk more at one of our upcoming Community Conversations. See you soon!
