September 18, 2024

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, this past weekend the 2024/2025 Vestry held a retreat at St. Francis. This retreat gave us the opportunity to come together in discernment over this new chapter in our church life.

Our time together both days started and ended with worship to bring us collectively together to whatever God has called each of us to do.

Douglas began our time together with an overview of vestry norms, purpose, and roles.

We spent Friday evening learning more about the finances of the parish. Kevin Hunt provided an excellent introduction, “Church Finance 101,” followed by an in-depth presentation on the Diocesan Fund by The Rev. Tim Boggs, a current Trustee of the fund.

On Saturday, Fr. Douglas led us in conversations on various areas of discernment including worship, spiritual care, faith formation, community outreach, parish in-reach, administration and our life together as a church.

This process of discernment and visioning will continue throughout the year, not only with the Vestry, but all of you. It feels wonderful to look ahead to how God may work within our parish!

In Christ,

Mary Boëchat, Sr. Warden

Prudy Heilner. Jr. Warden
