Generation Law 101
It’s back-to-school season, and class is in session. In this issue of the Elder Law Minute, we share one of the most important things you can do before sending your college student out into the world, and give you the answers to estate planning’s most pressing questions so you can prepare before it’s too late. You won’t be quizzed on any of this, but learning these lessons will prove to be very useful in the real world. Much more than algebra ever was.

If you don’t have a power of attorney agent in place for your adult children yet, or have yet to solidify your estate plan, reach out anytime. We can be your tutor and teacher through all of the legalese. And most importantly, we can be your trusted counsel to see that you, your loved ones and your assets are protected.

Firm Updates
The office is abuzz with baby fever as Generation Law attorney Melissa Johnson welcomed her third child, Wilder, on July 20! He measured in at 20.5 inches and weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Big brothers Remy and Oliver are happy to have their new baby brother home.

Melissa is a talented attorney, and we and our clients are fortunate to have her as part of our team. Welcome, Baby Wilder! We promise we won’t talk to you about estate planning until you’re crawling, at least. Because you’re never too young to make plans.
Earlier this month, founder Ben Neiburger presented "Powers of Attorney, Guardianships, Long Term Care Planning, and Fun with Irrational Family Members" at the Alzheimer's Association during two separate training sessions. Is your organization looking for some guidance on end-of-life legal issues and overbearing uncles? Get in touch to set up a speaking engagement with one of our attorneys here.
Where in the World Is Ben?
By foot, by sea and by bike, our founder, Ben Neiburger, is keeping busy with his race training. July and August have him competing in the Lake Zurich Triathlon , the Wauconda Triathlon , the Great Lake Plunge 4k swim in Evanston and the Ironman 70.3 in Old Orchard Beach, Maine . All of these races are leading up to the Big One in December: the Patagonman XTRI extreme triathlon in Patagonia. And as Patagonman gets closer, so does Ben’s 50 th birthday.

Follow Ben in his Generation Law-branded tri suit on Facebook , Twitter and LinkedIn as he continues his training, getting stronger, faster and probably sweatier.
