| | MARCH & APRIL'S NEWS TO KNOW | | | Social Security’s New Identity Verification Measures | |
Social Security is implementing new identity verification measures, and you may be curious about their impact on you. These updates aim to combat fraud, abuse, and waste. However, you may have challenges making any changes to your benefits if you cannot do so online. So, if you think you may have trouble doing that, now is the time to try it (when there is no emergency). Today, I will outline the new procedures and the reasons behind their introduction. For instance, phone applications may soon be phased out, with online applications becoming the sole method of submission.
The reason this is important now, is that in the future, you or a loved one may only have access to Social Security through online means.
| |  | What Happens to Special Needs Children When Their Parents Die? | |
From the moment a child is born, all parents – except for the terrible ones – worry about that child. But if that child has special needs, that worry and concern can be joined with fear. Even into adulthood.
This is the case for more and more American families. In an April 15, 2025 release, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that one in 31 children are identified with Autism. Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disorder in the United States, and while it is not the only disorder affecting families with special needs children, it is the most prevalent. And as these children become adults and their parents become elderly, the fear becomes equally prevalent.

Huge Rate Increase on Medicare Supplements 2025

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS BEN?
Ben is continuing his intense training regimen for one of the most difficult bike races on the planet, Race Across America (RAAM), covering 3000 miles from sea to sea.
In mid March, he, along with the rest of the Breathe America Team went to Las Vegas for their Training Camp. They spent five days biking all around the Metro area as well as throughout the magnificent Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Tough terrain, but stunning views.

Congratulations are in order for Melissa! On April 1, 2025 she won the election for a seat on the board for Lake Park High School, District 108. This was Melissa's first time running for office.
