Client's Corner: Why did I join New Element Training?

I got straight on the phone the moment I saw the flyer for New Element Training. I instantly recognised the machines pictured as the ones I had used for many years in the UK with London's Kieser training. Since moving to Toronto eight years ago one of the things I had missed was my twice weekly high intensity strength training workout at Kieser Gym, Camden site. Of course, there were more than enough Gyms I could have joined in downtown Toronto. But like many other people I don't have much time, I don't like running, I don't know how to work multi-gym weight machines generally, nor do I have the time or inclination to be seeking out busy gym staff members to show me all the time.

 

While these can all be seen as excuses for not exercising, these have been quite simply barriers for me over the last number of years, and I've been unable to find a solution -- even though with my prior experience with Kieser Training, I knew that strength training had worked well for me in the past.

 

Now, with the training at New Element, like in my Kieser Training days in London, I can stay committed to the schedule because I can fit it into my unpredictable and heavy working schedule. As a keynote speaker on the subject of using body language to influence and persuade others when communicating, I work with presidents of Fortune 500 companies and Prime Ministers of G8 powers, and so often need to fly all over the globe on a moment's notice, and often on a weekly basis. Even so, I can still fit in a couple of trips to New Element in a week for 20-30 minutes of high intensity training!

 

Even if my schedule would allow me an hour in the gym 3 -4 times a week to use running machines and the like, I quite simply get bored running on a machine for an hour at a time and so historically give up after 10 minutes! With the New Element MedX machines, it's impossible to get bored when you need to focus your mind and energy for short periods of time completely on moving the weight and training specific muscles.

 

Not only does the exercise at New Element give me an incredible result complete with a better physique and great cardio exercise, but this work continues to strengthen my back, and repair injuries around my knees (which have taken repeated punishment over the years, what with performing on stages and pulling luggage through airports at high-speed to make a connection after a 7 hour flight sitting in a tight aircraft!).

 

So I am back to an exercise program thanks to New Element, and feeling great after completing just a little less than three months of steady training. In fact I am getting in better shape than I was almost a decade ago working out in London. Here's why. The gym in London - though a flagship for Kieser, was quite big, and sometimes just too busy to get the kind of ongoing care, attention and recognition that Andrei and his team are giving here at New Element.

 

Andrei is a true fanatic when it comes to strength training. He has a wonderful combination of passion for health through fitness and yet the ability to stay calm around the many differing and opposing views on how that can be best achieved. Not only does he stay up to date scientifically in this field of study and practice, but also has regular conversations with Werner Kieser himself (something of a godfather of strength training) who has several decades of the world's best hands on experience in this area. That combination of passion, science, and openness to experience is as unique as the facility he runs and the people he works with.
