Hello Albert,

Since I got my first shot (of 2) last Friday I've been on a tear to get everyone I know to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Here's my thinking on the topic. After watching all sorts of news and reading articles on why this makes sense last night Rachel Maddow really brought the point home beautifully that getting vaccinated is not for you - it's for those you love! Spring Membership Drive!

I spend a lot of time working to make the world a better place. I also support small business and nonprofits with marketing. In the last month I've hosted meetings to preserve an 8-acre stand of trees in Gresham; hosted meetings of Breitenbush alums and friends to talk about what we envision for the future there; joined my fellow anti-leaf blower activists to get 10,000 door-hangers distributed around Portland; participated in my neighborhood council; and the list goes on. All of this depends on a laptop that my friends crowdfunded for me 10 years ago. Before this mighty 2010 machine gasps its last breath, I could use a new one. Or a refurbished one. I'm about to turn 60 on May 11th - so, happy birthday to me!

Well, it's time for me to get back into the fray. I hope you've enjoyed this episode of The Eleven. It's been going since 2008 - how about that? If you're ever curious about the various subjects I think about and work on, there is an archive. In fact, I've been doing a lot of work on my website over the past couple months - I have written over 300 times since 2008. I guess I'm a writer :) Take care, be well and get vaccinated.
