Today's Reflection

Prayer upon giving birth:

יוֹם חַג הוּא זֶה לָנוּ, כַּכָּתוּב:

יִשׂמַח־אָבִיךָ וְאִמֶּךָ וְתָגֵל יוֹלַדְתֶּךָ.

(Gender neutral option:)

יִשׂמַח־הוֹרֵיךָ וְתָגֵל יוֹלַדְתֶּךָ.

This is our day of joy. As it is said: "Your father and mother will be jubilant; the woman who bore you will exult."

Gender neutral option: “...the person who bore you will exult.”
