A Word from Leadership
In EODA/HR Operations, our leadership team spends a lot of time giving thought and discussion to the topic of the employee experience. Researchers in the field of Human Resources are driving this discussion across our industry and, frankly, there’s never been a more exciting time to be an HR professional than now. The excitement, however, is met with the sobering reality of the issues we face on the ground. There’s no doubt that the pandemic has pushed us into somewhat of an existential crisis as we grapple with issues like telework, employee wellbeing, and culture change. Along with these structural issues, we know that employees are experiencing other personal issues as they navigate their relationship with work and how they want to reconstruct their lives. None of these issues can be addressed using a “one size fits all” approach.

Tim is the Lead IT Consultant in the Information Technology Division. He leads seven technicians, and several student assistants, who all provide support to various departments on campus. Tim is also reaching a milestone this year as he celebrates thirty years of service at CPP! Thank you for all you do Tim!
What do you like most about your job?
"Everyone that is a part of the CPP family. I enjoy seeing a smile on a user’s face when a problem has been resolved by myself or our Team. I love the constant change of Technology, there is always something new to learn every day."
What is a quick tip that you want the campus to know?
"There is no "I" in the word "TEAM", it takes the whole TEAM working together in order for us to achieve success."
What do you like to do when you are not working?
"I still enjoy playing Baseball on weekends and playing in very competitive tournaments in Las Vegas and Arizona (against ex-pros) with a traveling club. I also enjoy doing home improvement projects and restoring old furniture with my wife (who is also my best friend). If time permits, I still coach Baseball with local kids in the High Desert."

Congratulations to Jesus Avalos who was promoted to Manager of Strategic Learning & Organizational Effectiveness!
Jesus has worked as a Learning & Development Consultant for CPP for the last three years. In addition, Jesus brings more than fifteen years as an organizational facilitator and nine years as a manager. In his new position, he will oversee the daily operations and assist with providing support to the CSC and the Learning Team.

How do I check the status for a campus position I applied for?
If you applied for a staff or management position you may check the status of your application through the Applicant login on the Careers page.

Can I view my W-2 online?
You may view your W-2 through a secure, web-based employee self-service portal, called Cal Employee Connect (CEC), available through the State Controller’s Office. Through CEC, you can view your paycheck advice statements (earnings statements) and W-2 forms. Registration is easy and only takes a few minutes.

When is our next payday?
Master Payday
March 30, 2022 - Employees who receive paper paychecks may pick-up their paycheck after 4:00 PM. Contact your department for pick-up details.
April 1, 2022 - Employees with direct deposit will have their paychecks posted to their bank account (varies with each banking institution).
Positive Payday
April 15, 2022 - Student, Hourly, and Overtime/Shift Differential employees may pick-up their paychecks. Contact your department for pick-up details.
