In his role within the VP of Administrative Affairs Office, Daniel supports the VP of Administrative Affairs Office and at times, various departments within the division. He supports the Vice President of Administrative Affairs, Chief of Staff and AVP for Administrative Services and Director of Internal Audit. Daniel performs various tasks and projects assigned such as managing the VP office, calendaring, research, submitting/tracking division requests and logistic tasks for the VP office and division.

Like many admins, Daniel often performs what feels like magic, making things happen without anyone realizing the complexity involved. "The best part of my job is meeting and working with people from all over CPP campus. I have meet some really great people here and in doing so, have been able to build lasting relationships in and outside of work."

"Always be ready for change. Planned and unexpected changes occur more often than not. Being in the mindset and being prepared to think on your feet is crucial. It can be a last second change to a meeting or event, or adapting to an entirely new process for something. Being flexible can negate the stress or frustration of change."

"I love going to the movies, traveling, gardening, gaming, or working on new art projects. Above all, I love spending time with my baby boy corgi, Marty."

The Latino Faculty, Staff & Student Association (LFSSA) is dedicated to supporting the academic and professional development of Latino faculty, staff, and students at Cal Poly Pomona. Founded in 1981 by Dr. Richard Santillan and Irma Lozano, LFSSA has a long-standing history of promoting community, leadership, cultural awareness, and diversity across campus. The group celebrates and promotes Latino cultural heritage, creating spaces where individuals can connect, learn, and grow.

LFSSA has made significant contributions to the campus community, including awarding eight unique student scholarships, thanks to generous donors and fundraising efforts such as the Día De Los Muertos T-shirt and sweatshirt sale. The group also plays an active role in organizing and supporting key events, including the Annual Día De Los Muertos event and the Unity Luncheon, which recognizes diversity champions from the student and staff communities. Through their advocacy and resource efforts, LFSSA continues to be a strong voice for the Latinx community on campus.

LFSSA offers a wide range of events, from their Annual Scholarship Banquet to professional development opportunities and networking socials. Notable activities include Tiempos Juntos gatherings, where community members engage in dialogue, as well as retreats and meetings for the executive board. These events help foster a sense of unity and provide personal and professional growth for members.

LFSSA plays a vital role in advocating for the Latinx community on campus, promoting cultural awareness, and fostering meaningful connections. The purpose of the Fearless Campus Forum is to cultivate a community of trust and innovation at Cal Poly Pomona as well as to bring awareness of the Fearless Campus activities. This forum brings together staff and faculty to explore the principles of psychological safety and its impact on creativity, collaboration, and overall wellbeing.

The Student Timekeeping Training is hosted by Payroll Services and will cover the student employee time reporting process, and the department’s roles and responsibilities. A demo will be provided in PeopleSoft HR. All timekeepers and approvers are welcome to join. Please note that training is required before timekeeper or approver access is granted in PeopleSoft HR.

The training will emphasize approaching customer needs with curiosity, encouraging participants to effectively explore concerns and issues before proposing solutions.
