Women's History Month

March 14th Equal Pay Day

Vacation Max Carryover

Women’s History Month is a dedicated month to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of women to United States history. The actual celebration of Women’s History Month grew out of a weeklong celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history, and society organized by a Sonoma County Education Task Force in 1978!

The National Committee on Pay Equity organized the first Equal Pay Day observance on April 11, 1996, which represented how far into the year women needed to work (over four months) to be paid what men had made the prior year. This year, we mark Equal Pay Day on March 14, almost a month earlier than the recognized date in 1996.

The deadline to use any carryover vacation hours is March 31, 2023 for UAPD (Unit 1), CFA (Unit 3), Teamsters (Unit 6), SUPA (Unit 8), MPP, and Confidential (C99) employees who have prior approval.

For CSUEU (Unit 2,5,7 & 9 ) and APC (Unit 4), the deadline is June 30, 2023.
