Shauna Gilkinson
Budget Analyst, College of Engineering
| |
In her role as the Budget Analyst for the College of Engineering, Shauna is responsible for the fiscal and budgetary management of the College of Engineering’s State, Foundation, and Philanthropic Foundation accounts. She is responsible for purchasing, financial processing, and even grants and contracts. If dollars are involved, it’s her responsibility to project, verify, process, track and report.
In her nomination, it was said that, “Shauna is resourceful and an effective team collaborator. She is approachable, friendly and always willing to assist. She has streamlined budget and business processes in the college and has worked tirelessly with IT to transition the college servers and coordinate the staff computer refresh program. Her knowledge and abilities make her a ‘shining star’. She goes ‘above and beyond’ in her work and is a forward thinker.”
Thank you, Shauna, for your 18 months of service and all you do for Cal Poly Pomona!

What do you like most about your job?
"My coworkers! College of Engineering faculty and staff are a wonderful, dedicated group of people I really enjoy working with."
| |
What is a quick tip that you want the campus to know?
"I encourage everyone to ask questions and share your good ideas! We all have our strengths and can share best practices with each other to make our jobs easier and more efficient."
| |
What do you like to do when you are not working?
"I enjoy spending time with my adult children, traveling, reading, and lately doting on our new 8-year-old rescue named Finnegan ("Finn"). He's a sweet dog with big scars and tattered ears that show he’s had a rough past, so he gets extra love."

Passover, a major Jewish holiday, begins at sundown Wednesday April 5 and ends at sundown Thursday April 13. Passover celebrates the Jewish people's Exodus from Egypt and their journey to freedom. Jews observe the weeklong festival with a number of important rituals, including a traditional Passover meal known as a seder, the removal of leavened products from their home, the substitution of matzo for bread and the retelling of the exodus tale. | |
Sunday April 9 is Easter, a Christian holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion.
While those of the Christian faith observe Easter by participating in religious rituals, vigils, and going to church, there are many non-religious traditions on Easter for children. The most common tradition is dying Easter eggs, including a lot of fun activities such as egg rolling, egg hunts, and other games associated with the Easter bunny.
