What do you like most about your job?
What do you like to do when you are not working?
What is a quick tip that you want the campus to know?
"I really enjoy getting to hear students share their stories of overcoming adversity to get to CPP. These stories are so important to their journey. During the welcome, I ask our students to pause, take in the moment of their very first day on campus, and then give themselves a round of applause. I love to see the look on their faces when they are acknowledged for all that they have already done and then begin to look forward to all the amazing things they will continue to do."
"I love travelling, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors with my 3 yorkies. On my free time I am constantly looking up travel deals, cooking recipes, and new hiking and campsites to discover."
"Both the online orientation and the in-person orientation day are mandatory for all new incoming freshman and transfer students. However, CPP faculty and staff can view all of the great information and resources that students learn about in online orientation by visiting our website and clicking on faculty/staff resources. There, faculty and staff can create a login to view the entire online orientation just as a new incoming student would."
Is there an employee who you believe goes above and beyond for
Cal Poly Pomona?

Looking for a quiet spot in nature to eat lunch? Then look no further because campus has some of the most amazing spots!
One of our favorite places is the Mesozoic Garden which is a learning center that allows one to visualize organisms and environments from ancient geologic time. Pick a large boulder, relax and enjoy your lunch while surrounded by nature from the Mesozoic Era. The Mesozoic Garden can be found by taking a walk up University Drive, passing Building 3 and take a left right before you get to the Agriculture Building.
Kellogg Creek is another great nature spot and is one of the largest natural bodies of water on campus. It is meant to highlight water throughout California as part of Project Blue. Enjoy an afternoon under the umbrellas complete with solar powered charging stations and seating. You may catch some bees, dragonflies, birds and deer among these natural springs.

Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Also known as African American History Month, the event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month.

This is your last chance to give through Campus Campaign, along with the opportunity to match your gift to programs that help students succeed. Campus Campaign is the only time to have your payroll deductions doubled for the whole year for new enrollees or increased amounts. Any amount counts! Your collective giving will provide reliable funds to programs and resources on campus, and also increase the participation rate for faculty and staff, which increase opportunities for grant approvals. Don’t miss out and give today!
Since 1986, the University Library’s Golden Leaves Author Award has celebrated campus community members (faculty, staff, students, alumni, and retirees) who have authored or edited a book.
This year’s ceremony will be held in April, so please tell all interested campus community members to complete a nomination form, and email it to library@cpp.edu before Wednesday March 1 to be recognized.
