WALK AND TALK

Rose Float Lab

Thursday November 17

Noon - 12:45 p.m.

This up close and personal experience will be hosted by Cary Khatab, Director of the Cal Poly Rose Float Lab. Learn about the collaboration between Cal Poly Pomona and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as they connect with students to enter a float in the annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses, Rose Parade. If you love watching the Rose Parade, this is a unique opportunity to get a look into the creation process and a sneak peak at the theme of this year’s Cal Poly Rose Float!

Cascade 101: Cascade for Beginners

This training will cover the rules and regulations pertaining to time and attendance for staff and faculty. This training session is designed to assist new timekeepers and approvers with getting accustomed to their responsibilities. However, all timekeepers and approvers are welcome to join!

Cascade is the University's free content Management System that will help you build and maintain your site. The Cascade 101 series is designed for beginning and intermediate Cascade users. In this series, we will provide step-by-step instructions, at a comfortable pace, on common Cascade features to increase your level of comfort using Cascade and support your journey to creating vibrant Cal Poly Pomona web pages.

Learn an in depth understanding of all benefits offered by the Cal State University. Form an educated decision on which plan options are best for you as well as learn about your retirement plan options. Receive step-by-step instructions on how to enroll, where to go for more information and how to take advantage of what is best for you.

Rediscover & Reimagine Badge Series

The Re-discover and re-imagine badge course is a series of three sessions that focuses on resilience, agility, reinvention, and vulnerability. This program will help you navigate these changes effectively and provide a framework for taking the next step. The goal of the series is to give you an opportunity to rediscover your true north, to recommit to your goals and reaffirm your engagement to create a meaningful and fulfilling future.

UPDATES & REMINDERS

Preferred Name will be Available in PeopleSoft HR tomorrow, 11/4!

A preferred name is any name an employee chooses to use other than their legal name. We invite all employees to go into employee self-service to view, add or update their preferred name. This preferred name will be used as your display name in various systems such as Microsoft Email Address book, ServiceNow, Canvas, Concur Travel System, PageUp Recruiting System, etc. The View/Update Names self-service page can be accessed from the Employee Center tab in MyCPP in the morning on Friday, November 4th.
