Administrative Support Coordinator

In her role with the Academic Resource department, Tonya prepares fiscal documents and manages the approval and submission process to the appropriate stakeholders. She is also responsible for regular inventory and replacement of instructional classroom furniture.

In her nomination, it was said that, “Tonya is always happy to help you, no matter the challenge. She comes to work every day smiling and makes you feel welcome. Tonya is truly the definition of a team player. She demonstrates integrity and commitment. It’s an honor to have her be a part of our Bronco Family!"

What do you like most about your job?



"I enjoy learning how the departments and divisions work in conjunction with each other on campus. This allows me to feel successful when a task or process goes smoothly."

What is a quick tip that you want the campus to know?

"Broaden your concept of team, instead of just thinking about your office or department as your team, develop teams across divisions. That way, everyone can do their best work and pass it on to the next person or process."

What do you like to do when you are not working?

"I enjoy learning about mind, body and spiritual awareness, especially around self-care for a joyful and fulfilling life. I have been able to broaden my horizons by traveling and meeting new people."

Payroll Services is hosting the Bi-monthly Campus Partners and Payroll Meeting to improve communication and provide timely updates and reminders to our campus partners. All paycheck coordinators, timekeepers, and authorized officials are encouraged to attend.

Join us for a 45 minute walk and talk through the beautiful Cal Poly Pomona Campus!  As a group we will walk to a specific destination on campus and learn about the location/department and the wonderful staff who make it happen while being active and building relationships.

The Student Timekeeping Training is hosted by Payroll Services will cover the student employee time reporting process, along with the department’s roles and responsibilities. Please note that training is required before timekeeper or approver access is granted in PeopleSoft HR.

Crucial Conversations teaches skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, and risky topics, for all levels of the organization. By learning to speak and be heard, you’ll surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions, and then act on your decisions with unity and commitment.

Learn an in depth understanding of benefits offered by the Cal State University. Receive step by step instructions on how to enroll and where to locate benefit information. We encourage attendance to assist in forming an educated decision on which benefit plan options are best for you as well as your retirement plan.

This two-part session in customer service is designed to equip participants with essential skills and techniques to enhance customer service interactions. Throughout the training, participants will learn, practice, and apply customer service techniques that aim to create a more enjoyable experience for all involved parties.

During this event, employees can meet virtually with your campus Benefits Services team as well as the benefit providers. We hope you will take advantage of this time to ask any questions you may have about the health, dental, vision or voluntary benefits available to you and your dependents.

Cal Poly Pomona students and employees can get discounted admission tickets for the annual Pumpkin Festival with their Bronco ID! Enjoy all the pumpkin patch, corn maze, petting farm, and much more! The festival runs from Fridays through Sundays, starting September 30 through October 29.

Mark your calendars for the "AI in the Classroom and Beyond" in-person symposium on Friday, November 3 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the CBA. This event will provide insights into the ethical, practical, and pedagogical aspects of artificial intelligence in education.

ACE women Network of Southern California invites you to the Fall Conference “Help Her Thrive: Leadership Strategies for Women's Success” on October 6 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Cal Poly Pomona, Kellogg West Conference Center and Hotel. This professional development and networking opportunity is now open to register!

Join CSU’s Got Talent September 26 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. as Garth Sheriff facilitates "Psychological Safety: The Key to a Collaborative and Healthy Hybrid Workplace". During this session, Garth will share current research to better understand psychological safety and introduces ways to assess and improve psychological safety for both your organization and team.

The World Alzheimer's Month theme is "Never too early never too late." The theme seeks to underscore the pivotal role of identifying risk factors and adopting proactive risk reduction measures to delay, and potentially even prevent, the onset of dementia. This month also helps raise awareness and educate people about dementia.
