Happy Thursday Broncos! Thank you for tuning in to another edition of The Employee Express, created specifically for our employees here at Cal Poly Pomona. Tonya Lira

In her role with the Academic Resource department, Tonya prepares fiscal documents and manages the approval and submission process to the appropriate stakeholders. She is also responsible for regular inventory and replacement of instructional classroom furniture.
In her nomination, it was said that, “Tonya is always happy to help you, no matter the challenge. She comes to work every day smiling and makes you feel welcome. Tonya is truly the definition of a team player. She demonstrates integrity and commitment. It’s an honor to have her be a part of our Bronco Family!"

What do you like most about your job?
"I enjoy learning how the departments and divisions work in conjunction with each other on campus. This allows me to feel successful when a task or process goes smoothly."

What is a quick tip that you want the campus to know?
"Broaden your concept of team, instead of just thinking about your office or department as your team, develop teams across divisions. That way, everyone can do their best work and pass it on to the next person or process."

What do you like to do when you are not working?
"I enjoy learning about mind, body and spiritual awareness, especially around self-care for a joyful and fulfilling life. I have been able to broaden my horizons by traveling and meeting new people."

CPP Symposium on AI in the Classroom and Beyond | | During this event, employees can meet virtually with your campus Benefits Services team as well as the benefit providers. This professional development and networking opportunity is now open to register! | | Join CSU’s Got Talent September 26 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. as Garth Sheriff facilitates "Psychological Safety: The Key to a Collaborative and Healthy Hybrid Workplace". During this session, Garth will share current research to better understand psychological safety and introduces ways to assess and improve psychological safety for both your organization and team. | | The World Alzheimer's Month theme is "Never too early never too late."
