Geriatric Mental Health and Memory Care Hold Open House

Psychiatry Geriatric Open House

In October, our Division of Geriatric Mental Health and Memory Care held an open house and ribbon cutting at their Science Parkway location. Over 100 community members and UR Medicine employees stopped by to celebrate the new spaces for the Alzheimer's Disease Care, Research and Education Program (AD-CARE), the Memory Care Program, and the future home of an infusion site for Alzheimer's medications. 


Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Has a New Name

It is with great pleasure to announce that our Adult Outpatient Psychiatry services, located on Chestnut Street, has a new name: Strong Minds. This change has been in process for some time, and we are very proud to share it in an official capacity. Thank you to all those involved in making this new name a success!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our holiday Department of Psychiatry food drive in support of Foodlink! We are excited to share that your donations filled the bin at Strong Memorial Hospital's Cafe 601 PLUS an additional six bags and four boxes of non-perishables. 

This was the biggest donation the hospital food drive had ever received! Thank you again to all who donated food and helped organize! 


Renewing of the Mind Course Returns in 2024

We are pleased to partner with the Interdenominational Health Ministry Coalition, Children's Institute, and Common Ground Health to present the 2024 session of Renewing of the Mind. Partnership Brings Arts to Strong Recovery Space

We are excited to share that a partnership between our Bridge Art Gallery, our Strong Recovery Services, and the Mental Health Association Creative Wellness Opportunities has been named a recipient of the Center for Community Health and Prevention's Community Health Partnership grant. This funding will support arts workshops and help create a gallery space for patients, families, and the recovery community at the Strong Recovery clinic. READ MORE>>>


Pediatric Behavioral Health and Wellness and Bridge Art Gallery Hold Managing the Monsters in Your Life Reception

Thank you to all those who stopped by in November to join our Pediatric Behavioral Health and Wellness services and the Bridge Art Gallery for the reception for Managing the Monsters in Your Life, a partnership exhibition featuring artwork from young artists and includes a selection of photographs by actor Jesse Mastin who played the role of Myles in Pediatric Behavioral Health and Wellness's production of She Kills Monsters. The show will be up in the gallery until Spring 2024, so stop by if you have not yet.
