Promotion Sunday!

Promotion Sunday For All Elementary/Pre-K Sunday School Classes is This Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 9:30am

There are so many wonderful reasons to bring your children to Sunday School. Sunday School is a fun, safe place where kids can learn about Jesus with trusted church members and grow friendships with children of like minds and values. Our Sunday School curriculum is fun and engaging, and our teachers are lovely.

All Sunday School students will be promoted one grade in their Sunday School classes this Sunday. If your child is in 1st grade – they will move up to Elementary; if your child is in 5th grade – they will move up to Middle School!

We are bringing back King’s Kash to our Sunday School program! You might be asking yourself "How does King's Kash work?" Your child can earn some King’s Kash by:

  • Attending Sunday School ($1.00)
  • Bringing their Bible Buddy to class ($1.00)
  • Reciting their Key Memory Verse ($3.00)
  • Bringing their Bible to class ($1.00)
  • Bringing a friend to class ($5.00).

What can they do with their King’s Kash? The children will be able to spend their King’s Kash on fun prizes, crafts, and candy. Every month we will load up Mrs. Hixon’s cart with various items that the kids can purchase during the Sunday School hour.

Why are we bringing King’s Kash back? Because it's a fun and habit building way to help our Sunday school children grow their faith, build friendships with other youth in the congregation, and set a lifelong habit of Bible study. Interested in learning more or want to donate items for the cart, contact Beth Hixon at bhixon@elcsh.org.

Join us this Sunday at 9:30am for the kick-off to another great Sunday School year. And remember, we have several adult Bible studies every Sunday for Adults, including a new Women’s Bible Study, Pastor’s Bible Study, and The Wilke Family. Let this Sunday start your family’s commitment to growing your faith and knowledge of Christ.

Moms Connect Group

Continues this Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 6:30pm

We Are Studying "How to Face Life's Challenges" by Stephen Foster

Moms Connect Group begins meeting this Thursday, September 8, 2022! This is a group that includes moms of all ages. We will be studying "How To Face Life’s Challenges!" by Stephen Foster. In this six-week series, Foster presents this six-part series on how Jesus’ teachings unlock some of life’s significant challenges. Each session will equip you with Biblical, practical, and relatable applications when tackling challenges like worry, failure, anger, loving enemies, judging others, and facing temptation.

Be inspired and encouraged to approach each of these struggles or setbacks confidently in the love, power, and wisdom of Jesus. He is worthy of our worship even amidst the genuine difficulties of life. We serve dinner at 6:30pm, and Bible Study begins at 7:00pm. Childcare is provided if needed.

Please RSVP to bhixon@elcsh.org for dinner or childcare so we can plan accordingly. Moms Connect meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month unless it lands on a holiday. We look forward to seeing you there!

FAMILY CAMP By the Skit Guys

Tickets are Free for Children and $10 for ages 13 and up

Click the Image Below to Watch a Video for More Information

We have the privilege of hosting a private showing of the movie FAMILY CAMP, featuring The Skit Guys on Friday, October 14, 2022! The Skit Guys are famous for their funny, lighthearted messages about Jesus; this movie is no exception!

So what is FAMILY CAMP all about? Well, For Tommy Ackerman, the church is a great place to be on Sunday mornings … if he can get his latest work deal closed on the back nine before the service ends. But when their pastor encourages the congregation to sign up for a week away at family camp, his wife Grace believes she’s found the perfect cure for her imperfect clan. Even if they’d all rather be anywhere but rustic Camp Katokwah.

This movie is sure to be a pleaser for all ages! Because we are partnering with Faith Connect Network, there will be a charge for tickets for ages 13 and up, costing $10 each. If you are interested in coming to this movie night – but cannot afford tickets, please contact Beth Hixon at bhixon@elcsh.org. We will be sponsoring any families who need help! And, as always, we will serve Hot Dogs, Chips, Drinks, and a yummy camp-fire inspired dessert (call me if you need S’more clues!). The food is complimentary!

To plan accordingly, we ask all church members to purchase their tickets as soon as possible. And please use this event as an opportunity to invite your friends, neighbors, and family to join us for this faith-based family movie!!!

Women's Morning Bible Study

UPDATED Biweekly Bible Study, September 14, 2022 at 8:45am in the Epiphany Library

Sunday Morning Class Begins Next Sunday, September 11, 2022

Our biweekly Bible study resumes THIS Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 8:45am and will continue every first and third Wednesday of the month. We will continue to meet in the Epiphany library but start studying a new book, "The Truth About Islam" by Jane Fryar. This four-session study helps you gain a deeper understanding of Islam and how it compares to your Christian faith on many levels. While also preparing you to confidently share the life-giving message of Jesus Christ. A comparison chart and summaries make for easy referencing, and an appendix provides helpful articles on Islam from a Christian perspective.

The Sunday morning women’s class will begin next Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 9:30am in the Epiphany library. We will receive God's overflowing gifts as we study Deb Burma's book "Sip, Savor, and Drink Deeply."

If you are interested or want more information, contact Karla Heerssen at 832-263-5649 or lalakk@sbcglobal.net.
