Blessing of Animals - Oct. 6
On October 6 we will have a Blessing of the Animals at 11:45 am as we commemorate St. Francis. Following Sunday worship, you are invited to head home to pick up your pet(s) and return to the lawn on the south side of the building (Fellowship Hall in case of rain). We will have a short service followed by a blessing of all creatures. Invite your friends or neighbors to come, too!
Grace Notes - Thoughts from the Pastors
I did not always notice the music of creation. Most of my life has been spent scurrying from one thing to the next, absorbed in the demands of self and others. I’ve been too busy to listen, to see, to notice. I’ve also been too busy to be what God created me to be, so my song has been silent. I had to learn to listen and to sing.

Family Promise Week - Oct. 13-20
Volunteers Needed for Family Promise for our next host week, October 13-20. We need people for the following positions: prepare a meal, meal serving & clean up, drive the van, evening hosts, overnight hosts, setup, tear down and laundry.

Ordination of Travis Segar - Oct. 20
Travis Segar has accepted a call to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Des Moines. His ordination will be held Sunday, October 20, at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity. All are invited to attend!
FreeStore Donation Drive - Oct. 20
Help victims of domestic violence start a new life! Holy Trinity is again organizing a drive to assist families who've been identified by local agencies as needing help. Click here to learn more. Please bring all items on Sunday, Oct. 20. We will have the FreeStore truck in the parking lot to accept donations. You can also give at the Giving Station. Select "FreeStore Income."
Congregational Meeting - Oct. 27
A Congregational Meeting will be held Sunday, October 27, immediately following the 10:00 worship service. The purpose of this meeting is to vote on the new Welcome & Inclusion Statement and some constitutional changes. Please plan to attend.

First Communion Classes in October
First Communion Classes are available to all who are interested. The class will be taught to all 2 nd grade students during church school in October. A class for all ages on will be held in two sessions: Sunday, October 13 and 20, at 8:30 am in Room 2. Take-home materials are available for those interested in doing the classwork at home. First Communion will be recognized at all worship service the weekend of October 26 & 27. Contact Kelly Heuton to sign up for the class.
Rides to Doctor's Appointments
Do you need a ride to a doctor’s appointment? If you are 60+ call the Ankeny Service Center at 515-965-1976, 8:00-11:30 am, Monday through Thursday to schedule a ride. Call the same number if you would be interested in being a driver.
Holy Trinity Food Pantry
The Holy Trinity Food Pantry is in need of the following items:
  • Recently purchased ground beef, chicken or other mainstay meats that are in 1-2 pound packages. Please place in the freezer.
  • Laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, and personal care items (toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc)
  • Canned meat
  • Clean, empty plastic grocery bags
  • Credit/debit card donations at the Giving Station located in the Narthex. 
You may place items in the grocery carts located by the entrances to the church.
Your monetary, food and personal care gifts are an outreach of God's love to the Ankeny community.
