Worship this Week
Tonight we will gather to worship on Thanksgiving Eve at 6:00 pm. We'll share fellowship and pie after worship. There will not be adult learning, choir, church school, or confirmation tonight. However, there will be nursery available during worship.

This weeken d we will celebrate the first weekend of Advent.

Grace Notes - Thoughts from the Pastors
My mother refused to stuff the stuffing in the turkey. A nurse by training, it seemed to her a health risk. Making the cavity of a turkey into a petri dish of simmering bacteria was not going to happen in our house on her watch. Instead, the stuffing went into a “cornflower” Corningware dish and was baked until it formed a crunchy top. That is an indelible (so far!) Thanksgiving memory for me. No doubt you have yours too... Join a Pop-Up Choir on Sunday
Join a Pop-Up Choir to sing for worship on December 1. Anyone who likes to sing is welcome to attend a rehearsal at 7:45 am and sing for worship at 8:30 & 10:00 am. This is a great opportunity for anyone who isn’t able to regularly sing with the Adult Choir. Visitors and out-of-town guests are invited to join as well! No need to RSVP; just show up and sing. Advent Book Study - Begins Dec. 3
Advent Book Study will begin on Tuesday, December 3, and meet for three consecutive Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in Room 201.  We will be reading “ Dear Church – A Love Letter from a Black Preacher to the Whitest Denomination in the U.S. ” by Lenny Duncan. Join this group and you will be challenged, convicted, upset, moved and blessed.  Books can be ordered through Amazon. Adult Learning - New Session Begins Dec. 4
As we await with joyful hope the coming of Christ, join Intern Garth for an Advent Adult Ed series exploring the mysteries of one of the most fascinating and often misunderstood books of the Bible: Revelation. Over the course of the three-week class, we’ll look at the meaning found in Revelation, talk through common misconceptions – particularly surrounding the apocalypse and the end of time, and learn about the many ways that Revelation has influenced our liturgy and hymns. Class meets from 7:00-8:00 on Wednesdays, December 4, 11 and 18 in Room 201.
Fair Trade Fair - Dec. 7-8
We will be hosting a Fair Trade Fair after worship on Dec. 7-8. Stop by the narthex to see a variety of items:
  • Fair trade coffee, tea and chocolate gift items
  • Hand-woven and knitted items made by LSI's Elders Refugee Program in Des Moines
  • Recycled aluminum crosses and decorations made in Costa Rica and Nicaragua
  • Christmas cards you may order through The Printery House

God has given us much; blessed us with abundance. God has also called us to do much with what we have received.  Let's join together for this generous undertaking that will fill our city with grace, mercy, love and hope.

Holy Trinity Food Pantry
The Holy Trinity Food Pantry has moved! It is now located in the south hallway by Entry Door S4.
The Food Pantry is in need of the following items:
  • Recently purchased ground beef, chicken or other mainstay meats that are in 1-2 pound packages. Please place in the freezer located in the new Food Pantry. Enter the door marked "Food Pantry Donation Drop Off."
  • Laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, and personal care items (toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc)
  • Canned meat
  • Children's books
  • Clean, empty plastic grocery bags
  • Credit/debit card donations at the Giving Station located in the Narthex. 
You may place items in the grocery carts located by the entrances to the church.
Your monetary, food and personal care gifts are an outreach of God's love to the Ankeny community.
