In 2014, Holy Trinity took a leap of faith to help meet the needs of the community by opening a food pantry. Marie Witt, who had years of experience at another food pantry, accepted the call to organize the effort and has been a faithful servant and volunteer food pantry coordinator since that time. This month, Marie leaves Ankeny to move to Ohio to be closer to her family.
We are grateful to Marie for the countless hours she has given to feed the hungry. Under her direction, the service of 34 volunteers and the generous donations from this congregation and community, our food pantry has grown to serve 35-40 families per week.
We are excited to introduce Pamm Cox, who has answered God’s call to become our new volunteer food pantry coordinator. Pamm has a background in social work and family services, and has volunteered in the HTLC Food Pantry for four years. We are thankful for Pamm’s willingness to serve in this new capacity and look forward to seeing God’s ongoing work to work for the “least of these.”
