Food Pantry Leadership Changes
In 2014, Holy Trinity took a leap of faith to help meet the needs of the community by opening a food pantry. Marie Witt, who had years of experience at another food pantry, accepted the call to organize the effort and has been a faithful servant and volunteer food pantry coordinator since that time. This month, Marie leaves Ankeny to move to Ohio to be closer to her family. We are grateful to Marie for the countless hours she has given to feed the hungry. Under her direction, the service of 34 volunteers and the generous donations from this congregation and community, our food pantry has grown to serve 35-40 families per week.

We are excited to introduce Pamm Cox, who has answered God’s call to become our new volunteer food pantry coordinator. Pamm has a background in social work and family services, and has volunteered in the HTLC Food Pantry for four years. We are thankful for Pamm’s willingness to serve in this new capacity and look forward to seeing God’s ongoing work to work for the “least of these.”
Lighthouse Renovation Project
There's a flurry of activity at the Lighthouse! The new flooring was installed last week, appliances are being delivered today, and work on the renovated bathroom will begin shortly. It's now time to furnish the Lighthouse for our next pastoral intern who will move into the home at the beginning of August.
Habitat for Humanity - Aug. 13
Be a part of a Holy Trinity Habitat for Humanity team on Tuesday, August 13, from 8 am – 4 pm. In June the Ankeny churches built walls for homes being constructed in Des Moines. Now we are invited to follow those walls back to the Mondamin Presidential neighborhood of Des Moines and help with construction needs on site.  Please register online by Aug. 7.  HTLC can continue to make a difference in the lives of families.
Love Lunches Thanks
Love Lunches now has enough paper products, juice and snacks to last for quite a while; thank you for your generous donations! If would like to continue to support this ministry, they are requesting monetary donations for meat, fresh fruits & vegetables. Checks can be made payable to “Love Lunches” and left in the church office.
GraceNotes: Thoughts from Our Pastors
WHAT’S SO ORDINARY ABOUT ORDINARY TIME
Jesus invites us to live life in the ordinary days; to observe life, listen, see, feel the beauty of this world. Jesus invites us to live life in the ordinary days; to love those with whom we share this beautiful planet, to have care and concern for those who are cast off by our country or the world.
