Connect with One Another
Connecting with God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, happens when we connect with others who share our faith and our journey. At Holy Trinity Lutheran Church we have developed a network of life groups. These small groups encompass aspects of support, study, social and serving that allow us to connect with God and with one another.
We invite you to make a connection with one of these ministries so that your connection with God may grow.
WIC Expansion at HTLC
For a long time now, we have hosted WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) once a month. WIC is a federal program that works to see that the nutritional needs of some of the most vulnerable in our society do not go unmet. Because of the increasing demand for this program (even as the economy expands for many) we will be hosting WIC twice each month, beginning in October. They will be with us on the second Monday and fourth Tuesday of each month. We are honored and blessed to partner with this ministry that shares God’s love by feeding the hungry.
Are You Registered to Vote?
Do you know where your voting place is? Holy Trinity’s Advocacy Team will be available at the Red Wall this weekend to help answer any questions.
Anyone interested in joining the Advocacy Team is invited to the group’s next meeting on Tuesday, October 23, in the Fellowship Hall at 6:00 pm.
Pause Groups
Pause Groups are small groups that meet at the church or in a home for the purpose of pausing from the busyness of life to rest in God’s word.  Each week one chapter of the book of Hebrews is read on your own at home. A commentary on Hebrews is available for a suggested donation of $14.00 in the Resource Center, or you can  order from Amazon. Groups meet at 1:00 pm on Mondays, 10:30 am Thursdays, 4:00 pm on Saturdays, and 11:15 am on Sundays.
Pause Groups will begin meeting the week of Oct. 7. A syllabus can be found in the Resource Center.
Study Bibles in Resource Center
Lutheran Study Bibles are available in the Resource Center. Suggested donation is $20. Place your payment in an envelope in the Resource Center and drop it in the metal box, or pay using your debit or credit card at the Kiosk in the Narthex by the staircase.
Habitat for Humanity - Oct. 27
Join in making an impact in the life of a family by building panels to make a home for a family in Des Moines. The Ankeny Circle of Friends includes five local churches who support Habitat for Humanity. There are different jobs for people of all levels of experience.  We will be building the panels at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center on October 27. Please complete the registration information.  Also, please complete the Holy Trinity wavier and return it to the church office before October 27.
Dinner for Eight - Register Now
Dinner for Eight will begin in October. This is a wonderful way to get to know more people in the congregation. The group will get together once in October and November, and then again in January and February. You will be assigned to a group and will dine in the homes of members of your group, or you may choose to dine in a restaurant with each person paying for their meal.  Click here to sign up online, or visit the high-top table in the Narthex.
