DONATE & VOLUNTEER
Donate to the FreeStore
The FreeStore offers gently used furniture and household goods to help families start over. They currently have an urgent need for gently used dressers, kitchen tables, and queen-sized box springs. They can pick up your items or you can drop them off at their warehouse.  Learn more at the FreeStore website or contact Marty Rathje at 515-964-2726.
Volunteer with Family Promise
Our next Family Promise Host Week is November 28-December 5. Due to Covid, hosting will take place at Faith Lutheran in Clive. We need overnight hosts and individuals to prepare and deliver meals. Sign up online. Contact Carlie Fitzgerald or Scott Hamilton with questions.
Donate to Winter Outerwear Drive
Project Fresh Start is requesting donations of new or clean/gently-used winter coats, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and boots. Items will be distributed to Ankeny students the weekend of November 13-14. If you have items to donate, place them in the bin in the north entrance or at the red wall by November 8.
STUDY, SERVE & SUPPORT
Join WOW for Fellowship
WOW is for the widows and widowers of the church. The group meets at 10:00 am on Oct. 19, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7 at Perkins. We have a meal (ordered from the menu) and share information about self, family or community.
For more information contact Katie Kendall at 515-964-2278.
Subscribe to Living Lutheran
It's time to renew or sign up for Living Lutheran magazine. This special offer of $9 (subscriptions are normally $19.95) is available only once a year. To subscribe, please click here or call Lisa in the office by Oct. 25.
LEARNING MINISTRIES
Middle Schoolers, High Schoolers & Parents/Guardians Are Invited!
“A Conversation With Ellen” will be Sunday, October 24, 5:00-6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. You’ll get to know Ellen and each other through stories, games and faith questions.
We’ll eat snacks and share a vision for youth ministry at Holy Trinity.
RSVP is not necessary, but it helps us plan for “make your own trail mix” snacks! Sign up online. Contact Ellen with questions.
Registration for the ELCA Youth Gathering is now open!
Hosted in Minneapolis July 24-28, 2022, this amazing experience combines worship, fellowship, and service with thousands of other young Lutherans from around the country. The Gathering is open to all youth who are in 9th-12th grade as of Fall 2021. Click here to view the event and register. Registration closes on November 14, 2021.

Mark your calendars! Youth are invited to our first Gathering Getting Ready meeting on Wednesday, October 27, at 7 pm in the multi-purpose room.

Contact Minister for Learning Ellen Rothweiler about The Gathering and High School Ministries.
CARE FOR CREATION
Donate to Replace Trees & Shrubs!
We are ready to re-plant trees and shrubs damaged following last year’s derecho. If you’d like to donate to offset the cost of the plants, you can give by check (note “Trees” in the memo line) or click here to give online .
Do You Enjoy Flower Gardening?
We are forming a Flower Garden Team that will be tasked with planning, planting, and tending our outside flower beds. If you are willing to share your talents in this area, contact Krista in the office.
THOUGHTS FROM PASTORS & STAFF
BELLS & REMEMBERING
Lately I find myself reflecting on the changes we have experienced over the past 18 months. As we move out of the heights of the pandemic, the future looks hopeful. I am seeing life the way I have not seen it for what seems like quite a while. Ferris Bueller’s famous words come to mind, “Life moves pretty fast. If you do not stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”  Read this week's Grace Notes
HOLY TRINITY FOOD PANTRY
Volunteer in the food pantry on Tuesday afternoons. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. If you are interested in helping, contact the church office.

Donate to Holy Trinity Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is in need of the following items:
  • canned soup
  • canned meats
  • canned fruit
  • toilet paper
  • paper towels
  • peanut butter
  • feminine hygiene products
  • diapers
  • personal care items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, shaving products)
If you have perishable foods to donate, please contact Lisa in the church office to find out if we have the capacity to store these items before bringing them to the pantry. We do not need frozen meat at this time.
Due to space constraints, our food pantry does not accept clothing or other household items.
Your monetary, food and personal care gifts are an outreach of God's love to the Ankeny community. Thank you for giving generously!
