GATHER

Hymn Festival Oct. 9

A Fall Hymn Festival will be held in the sanctuary on Sunday, October 9, at 4:00 pm. This event will feature the Adult Choir and other musicians of the congregation. Invite a friend

who loves music to join you for this uplifting event.

GROW IN FAITH

Connect Together This Fall

This Sunday, stop by the narthex between worship services to learn about how you can Share God’s Love as we serve our neighbors and grow in our faith. You are invited to join a serving group: Food Pantry volunteers, Advocacy Team, Kids Hope USA, Family Promise, FreeStore, Hospitality Team, Worship Ministry Volunteers, and more.  Click here to learn more about small groups.

VOLUNTEER & SERVE

Holy Trinity Partnering with Kids Hope USA

Interested in making a real difference in the life of a child? Holy Trinity is partnering with Kids Hope USA to provide one-on-one mentoring for children who attend Northwest Elementary School. Learn how you may provide hope by providing a caring and consistent relationship with one student, once a week, for one hour during the school day. Click here to learn more, or contact Penney Wilson or 515-650-7830.

THOUGHTS FROM PASTORS & STAFF

Welcome to Pastor Travis, Our New Pastor for Care & Community

With joy and thanksgiving to God we are pleased to announce that our journey to call a new pastor is complete! On Sunday, September 18, the congregation voted to call Pastor Travis Segar to be our new Pastor for Care & Community. Pastor Travis has accepted the call and will begin his ministry among us as he presides in worship on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

GRACE NOTES BLOG: RICH, GENEROUS, READY TO SHARE

I was taught that the “golden rule” was “do unto others as you would have them do to you.” Jesus says this. The Buddha does too. In fact, this rule is part of nearly every spiritual tradition known to humanity. There is a cynical rework of this rule I learned later in life: “The one with the gold makes the rules.” While it is cynical, it is also true. Money and wealth are not just possessions, but power. Those who have vast wealth have lots of power.
