THE ESPLANADE THIS WEEK
MAKE WAY FOR CYGNETS! THE SWAN'S EGGS HAVE HATCHED!
After first spotting the swan's nest along the Esplanade's lagoon in early April, the Espla-swan family has finally welcomed newly hatched cygnets to their bunch. The swan squad has drawn many visitors to the Esplanade this week to witness the latest egg-hatchings, the first steps and swim of the adorable cygnets, and other candid moments to experience with other Espla-swan family fans.

Next time you're on the Esplanade, make sure to look out for the swans and their cygnets swimming throughout the lagoon and by their nest near the Dartmouth Street Footbridge! Read more about our new cygnet friends from WHDH 7News, NBC10 Boston, and WBZ NewsRadio.

UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
JOIN US FOR OUR NATIONAL TRAILS DAY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER DAY!
Join REI Co-op and the Esplanade Association for our National Trails Day Community Volunteer Day on the Esplanade on Saturday, June 5 from 10am to 12pm! We invite all members of our community to #OptOutside and join us for a rewarding morning of volunteering on the Esplanade in honor of National Trails Day this year.

Taking part in the Esplanade Association's community volunteer days is a great way to meet other people who are passionate about volunteerism and giving back to the Charles River Esplanade. This volunteer opportunity will involve cleaning up and removing litter from along the Esplanade's park land and shorelines.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ON THE CHARLES RIVER CLEAN UP BOAT
Volunteers of the Charles River Clean Up Boat have been cleaning floating trash on the Charles River for almost 20 years. After being shut down last year due to COVID, they are once again seeking volunteers to clean the Charles River. It’s a small skiff boat so only 2 volunteers can go at a time. It's a wonderful way to do some needed community service with your child(ren)! The volunteer schedule is now open and can be viewed at this link.
