THE ESPLANADE THIS WEEK
We're excited to share that many of the Esplanade's trees and flowers are currently in bloom! From the variety of cherry trees located along the Esplanade's lagoon to the magnificent magnolias behind the Hatch Shell, the park's flowering trees are flourishing at this time of year. You'll also find the beautiful blooms of hyacinth and daffodils in front of the Hatch Shell, planted by our partners at the Boston Athletic Association last fall, and golden daffodils blooming underneath the Fanny Appleton Footbridge, around Otis Grove, and along Storrow Lagoon.

Our Horticulture Manager expects a few more types of cherry trees to bloom on the Esplanade within the next few weeks along with other flowers and gardens located throughout the park. We encourage you to head to the Esplanade for a springtime stroll, bike ride or picnic to experience the essence of spring during the final weeks of April and early May!

20TH ANNIVERSARY SPOTLIGHT: VISITOR EXPERIENCE
We partnered with Night Shift Brewing in 2018 to launch the Owl’s Nest Beer Garden on the Esplanade, providing a brand-new concessions experience for all Esplanade visitors. The Owl’s Nest’s riverfront views and unique location under the park’s lush tree canopy makes this beer garden a one-of-a-kind in the City of Boston.

We’re thrilled to share that the Owl’s Nest will return to the Esplanade next month and you’ll be able to enjoy brews with extraordinary views of the Charles River in our beloved park all summer long. For every wine and beer product sold at the Owl’s Nest, a portion is donated to the Esplanade Association to further our efforts in revitalizing and enhancing the Esplanade.
