AAUW SCHOLARSHIP FUND APPEAL

This is the time of year when we support AAUW’s mission to achieve gender equity for women and girls in our community by supporting the AAUW Marin Scholarship Fund.

Thanks to the generosity of members and friends and grants from Bank of Marin and the Compass Marin Community Fund in the last fund-raising cycle, we awarded $1,000 scholarships to 6 students in the transfer program at College of Marin, awarded $3,500 each to two nontraditional women students at Dominican University and we added to our endowed funds to ensure our ability to keep awarding scholarships in perpetuity.

“In the fall and spring, scholarships are awarded to our students. During this time, our students are filled with pride and a sense that community members are investing in them and ensuring they can fulfill their educational goals and dreams … The scholarships awarded this year had an extraordinary impact – thank you.”
Keith M. Rosenthal, Director of Advancement College of Marin

Did you miss it?
Our Branch meeting with Elaine Petrocelli of Book Passage last month focused mainly on her entrepreneurial spirit and talent in creating Book Passage and guiding it through this pandemic. But, of course, she also held forth on some great “picks” for holiday giving and “must reads” for yourself. If you missed the program, you can access her online recommendations here.
