To celebrate the launch of our new Community App, we will be doing a Raffle Giveaway! EACC has partnered with many of our members around Evergreen to put together 5 amazing prize packages that will show off Everything Evergreen has to offer. Raffle Prize Winners will be announced at Taste of Evergreen.

I know everyone’s calendars are filling up quickly, so please mark your calendar for Taste of Evergreen to be held at the Evergreen Lake House on Tuesday, September 20. This will be a fun evening of enjoying tastes and sips from all our awesome restaurants, food trucks, pubs and more while enjoying music and visiting with neighbors and friends, all while surrounded by the beauty of the Lake House. Look for tickets to go on sale in August.

Local Non-Profit Encourages Evergreen Businesses to Go Green!
 
[EVERGREEN, COLORADO, Month Date—] A newly re-vamped green business program is coming to Evergreen! Local non-profit Evergreen Sustainability Alliance is partnering with the Colorado Green Business Network to recognize exceptional environmental performers that go beyond the requirements of environmental regulations and move toward the goal of true, operational sustainability. The program is free and open to all types of businesses. Participants have access to local and regional resources for solving all types of environmental concerns, with best practices in lighting, composting, and industry-specific solutions. These solutions not only improve water and energy efficiency by saving money but reduce landfill waste as well.
Colorado is one of ten states to implement a business sustainability program through the online platform, GreenBiz Tracker. The Colorado Green Business Network provides technical assistance and statewide recognition for businesses that voluntarily implement environmentally friendly practices and record them in the GreenBiz Tracker. Businesses register for free, then an online portal stores data on their sustainable practices that the CGBN uses to evaluate and assist businesses according to standardized recognition criteria. The online tool tracks water and energy usage, transportation impacts, business policies, and other aspects of daily operations. After submission, a report is provided back to each business highlighting recommendations on how to improve day-to-day business practices. Often, by incorporating environmentally friendly practices, businesses can also save costs on utility bills, trash service, and gain attention from environmentally conscious clients, thus by turning green, the businesses can save green!
In addition, the Colorado Green Business Network hosts regular workshops and many businesses love connecting with their peers to gain insight and guidance for approaching a challenging problem or to share their achievements.
This year, Evergreen Sustainability Alliance has assisted three local businesses in completing the GreenBiz Tracker enrollment, Cactus Jack’s Saloon and Grill, Evergreen Chamber of Commerce, and Bivouac Coffee. Congratulations to those businesses for leading the Evergreen community in green practices!
