Whether you are the sole owner, CEO or on the marketing team of a company, your brand image means a lot to you. It’s a facet of your organization that truly defines who you are, what you offer and even what you stand for. At the start of your company, you put a lot of thought and energy into your name and logo and came up with the perfect version at that time.
But now think about where you were when you started and where the company is today. You’ve most likely evolved or changed as the years passed and the world around you shifted to new trends. For any company, keeping up with the times is important for both your sales, employees and overall brand image.
Evolving your brand image doesn’t mean that you need to completely change the company name, logo, mission and vision. It all depends on what your goals are and how you want your audiences to see and recognize you. For example, simply changing up your color scheme could be how your brand changes. You may have started with a darker color scheme but now your organization is better defined by a brighter one. You could also change your tagline. Taglines reflect your mission and vision. If those have changed, so should your tagline.
If you feel that your logo needs to be refreshed, focus on what you want to portray to your audience. Are you looking for a more corporate look or a modern one? Take our logo for example. When Leonard & Finco started our logo was vastly different from what it is today. We looked for a design that best represented how our company should be portrayed. Looking at ideas from other companies, our logo now is a sleek, simple and modern design that we feel best shows off who we are.
The evolution of your brand also means updating your website. You should at the minimum, audit your website annually to see what should be updated and also review the overall layout. Does it reflect the vision and mission of your organization? Is it a good representation of what you stand for? Your website and logo should go together, so if you update one, you should update the other. A fresh website design is a great way to connect with new audiences while also showing your current audience that you are an evolving brand.
What worked 30 years ago may not work today, and that’s OK. As time goes on and your company evolves with new ideals, services and goals, look at how your brand portrays those changes. It’s the first thing your audience will see and recognize. Make sure it stands out.

Please join us in welcoming Sydney Zima, the newest member of the Leonard & Finco team. Sydney joins L&F as an account assistant and works with other team members to drive successful client outcomes.
She recently graduated from St. Norbert College with a major in communication and media studies, and a minor in graphic design. She’s also a bit of a speedster, running the 200; 100; 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay, along with the long jump, on the college’s track team.
When she wasn’t studying or running in circles during college, she spent time as an intern at the Green Bay Botanical Garden and The Automobile Gallery. At both organizations, she used her design skills to create promotional materials for various events and activities. She also assisted with planning and day-of event coordination.
Sydney grew up in Oshkosh but now calls Green Bay “home.” When not at work, she enjoys camping, hiking and a variety of other outdoor activities. And, of course, watching the Packers, GO PACK!
