Nominations Open for the 2025 Community Campus Coalition Awards | |
Community Campus Coalition (Triple C) is proud to announce that nominations are now open for two prestigious awards recognizing outstanding contributions to community service and civic engagement.
Nominate an Outstanding Student: The Charles J. Ping Student Service Award
is named in honor of former Ohio University President Dr. Charles J. Ping, a longtime advocate for community engagement in higher education. This award recognizes undergraduate students at Community Campus Coalition (Triple C) member institutions who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to community service or service-learning.
These students represent the next generation of civic leaders and problem solvers, actively working to address critical issues in their communities. Whether through organizing volunteer efforts, leading service-learning initiatives, or advocating for social change, these individuals inspire their peers and make a lasting impact. If you know a student whose dedication to service deserves to be celebrated, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
Nominate an Exceptional Faculty or Staff Member: The David Hoch Memorial Award for Excellence in Service honors faculty and staff members at Community Campus Coalition (Triple C) member institutions who have demonstrated outstanding work in service-learning and civic engagement. Named in memory of Dr. David Hoch, a passionate advocate for community service in higher education, this award highlights the critical role that faculty and staff play in fostering a culture of engagement on campus and beyond.
Recipients of this award are individuals who have gone above and beyond to integrate service-learning into their teaching or campus programs, empowering students to become engaged citizens. Their leadership and commitment to civic engagement help shape the future of community-minded institutions and build stronger, more resilient communities.
How to Submit Nominations: Nominations for both awards are now open, and we invite faculty, staff, and students from Triple C member institutions to participate. To submit a nomination or learn more about the criteria for each award, please visit our website.
The deadline for nominations is February 28, 2025. Winners will be announced on March 7, 2025.

Join Baldwin Wallace University’s Center for Community Engagement in partnership with the Community Campus Coalition (Triple C) for their Social Change Summit on Saturday, January 25, from 11 AM to 3 PM.
This free, conference-style event is part of MLK Week celebrations and honors Dr. King’s legacy of social justice. Open to all students, faculty, and staff, this program includes lunch and empowers participants to transform feelings of anxiety and apathy about current events into meaningful action for positive social change.

Become a Host Site for the Student Resource Center AmeriCorps Program | |

The Community Campus Coalition (Triple C) is seeking colleges and universities to serve as host sites in 2025-2026 for our Student Resource Center (SRC) AmeriCorps program. An upcoming informational session on Thursday, February 13, at 11 am. will provide a closer look at how institutions can join this impactful initiative and better support students facing nonacademic challenges.
Launched in 2019, the Student Resource Centers aim to reduce barriers that hinder students' academic success. These centers serve as vital hubs on campuses, connecting students with critical resources to address issues such as food insecurity, housing instability, mental health needs, and financial hardship.
With the support of ServeOhio and AmeriCorps, SRC AmeriCorps members are placed at host campuses to establish new resource centers or enhance existing ones. These members work directly with students to provide personalized support, ensuring students remain enrolled and on track to earn their degrees.
By becoming an SRC AmeriCorps host site, your institution can play a key role in building a more equitable and supportive campus environment for all students. Join us for the upcoming session to learn more about the application process and how your campus can participate.
