2025 Annual Ohio Peace and Conflict Studies

Network Conference

The 2025 Annual Ohio Peace and Conflict Studies Network Conference (OPCSN), Bridging the Divide: Prevention and Intervention, will take place on 

Friday, April 11, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio.


Hosted by Sinclair Community College, this event brings together Ohio’s higher education peace and conflict studies programs to explore strategies for fostering dialogue, promoting media literacy, and enhancing understanding across diverse perspectives to support a healthy democracy.


The conference will feature an opening panel, five intensive workshops, and opportunities for networking. Registration is now open, with a deadline of April 4. The cost includes conference fees, a light breakfast, and lunch, with rates set at $35 for non-Ohio college and university personnel, $25 for Ohio faculty, staff, and administrators, and $10 for Ohio college students.

Meet John Copes: How Service is Shaping His Experience as an SRC AmeriCorps Member

In the 2024-2025 academic year, Ohio Northern University launched its first-ever Student Resource Center (SRC), and AmeriCorps Member John Copes played a key role in shaping its success.


In his personal account, John reflects on his journey of overcoming challenges, engaging students, and connecting them with vital resources. From organizing interactive outreach events to addressing student needs through the EdSights AI chatbot, John’s work has made a lasting impact on campus.


"Engagement takes time, and meeting students where they are — both physically and in terms of their needs — is essential for building trust and connection," John writes in his story.

Spreading The Word: A Speaker Series Opportunity

Community-Engaged Alliance (CEA), Triple C’s network organization in Indiana, invites professionals from all fields to share their expertise through its Spreading the Word speaker series.


While hosted by CEA member institutions, speakers can be from anywhere, with options for virtual or in-person engagements.


This is a great opportunity to contribute to civic dialogue while receiving a stipend of $200-$500. If you’re passionate about community engagement and education, consider applying to be a speaker!

Funding Available for ServeOhio Day 2025 Projects

ServeOhio is offering grants of $250 to $1,000 to support community service projects for ServeOhio Day on June 21.


Projects can take place between June 1-30 and should enhance community spaces through volunteer engagement. Eligible Ohio nonprofits and public organizations can apply.

Ohio Excels and the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation will host the annual Aim Hire Workforce and Education Conference on October 16, 2025, at Hilton Columbus Downtown.


The event gathers leaders to explore education and workforce strategies. A $100 registration fee supports programming. More details coming soon!

The Fair Election Center’s Campus Vote Project is conducting a nationwide study on college students' voting behaviors, examining how factors such as race, gender, first-generation status, and political affiliation influence participation.
