How To Manage The Stresses of Working In Business
|
By Stan Popovich
Stress and anxiety are very common when you work in business. As a result, here is a list of techniques that a business person can use to help manage their daily stresses and anxieties. Sometimes, we get stressed when everything happens all at once. When this happens, a person should take a deep breath and try to find something to do for a few minutes to get their mind off of the problem. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things. When facing a current or upcoming task at your job that overwhelms you with a lot of anxiety, divide the task into a series of smaller steps and then complete each of the smaller tasks one at a time.
-------------------------------
Completing these smaller tasks will make the stress more manageable and increases your chances of success. Challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make you fearful or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, you are afraid that if you do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available and just because you don't get this job promotion doesn't mean that you will never get one. Remember that no one can predict the future with one hundred percent certainty. Even if the thing that you feared does happen there are circumstances and factors that you can't predict which can be used to your advantage. For instance, you are at your place of work and you miss the deadline for a project you have been working on for the last few months. Everything you feared is coming true. Suddenly, your boss comes to your office and tells you that the deadline is extended and that he forgot to tell you the day before. This unknown factor changes everything.
-------------------------------
In dealing with your anxieties at your job, learn to take it one day at a time. While the consequences of a particular fear may seem real, there are usually other factors that cannot be anticipated and can affect the results of any situation. Get all of the facts of the situation and use them to your advantage. The more control you have over your stresses and anxieties, the better off you will be in the long run. Take advantage of the help that is available around you. If possible, talk to a professional who can help you manage your fears and anxieties. They will be able to provide you with additional advice and insights on how to deal with your current problem. By talking to a professional, a person will be helping themselves in the long run because they will become better able to deal with their problems in the future. Managing your fears and anxieties takes practice. The more you practice, the better you will become.

Showtimes Hit Series "Gigolos"
Showtime presents an extremely rare and uncensored look into the personal and professional lives of five hot guys in Vegas who like to hang out, have fun and get girls, but in their case they get paid for it. They find themselves in some unexpected positions as they balance relationships, friends and family with the demands of
their female clientele. A reality series like no other, Gigolos is not only provocative but also surprisingly heartfelt. It's a wild ride for these real-life escorts who never miss a trick and we'd like to introduce you to Brace, one of the original standing Gigolos. |

Brace Yourself for Brace
Born in Michigan, Brace played football and basketball in high school and was recruited to play in college, but instead, decided to take a
high-paying job in the business sector. At age 18, Brace enrolled in a local modeling/finishing school. Brace dabbled in modeling, but decided he preferred the corporate world. After graduating from engineering school and continuing his business career, he took an interest in bodybuilding and began to compete. At that time, he also discovered Yoshokia Aikido and spent the next seven years dedicating his life to the study. Brace attended Kenshu, an advanced Aikido school and completed his Aikido training. Brace's business interests are vast and they include real estate, nutritional supplements, and he has even developed a hair tool that was sold on QVC. Brace believes health and fitness are extremely important and regularly uses fasting, nutritional supplementation, weight training, yoga, meditation, organic skin care, and organic foods to achieve ultimate health. He likes exotic cars, modern home design, beautiful women, adventure, organic food, weight training, stylish clothes, exotic locations, and being around good quality people. |
Not Judging a Book by Its Cover: Brace Land Interview

Showtime's hit series Gigolos star Brace Land talks success of the show, dating life and more...
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck then it probably is a duck, right? Let's consider that maybe; just maybe, it's not a duck. Sometimes things are not what they seem and that became apparent in my interview with Brace Land, star of the Showtime hit series Gigolos.
I'm not just this gigolo; I don't just live this crazy lifestyle. There's so much more to me than that." Brace and I discussed many of his other interests and past endeavors that include real estate, multiple businesses and martial arts. This Michigan-bred fan favorite knows that there will be common misconceptions about who he is and that when you take risks, it comes with the territory.
"I wasn't sure of the credibility at first, but I figured I would give it a try...we shot a pilot and it just took off. It wasn't my intention for it to be something so sexually related but I saw an opportunity," Brace shares how he got started with the show. In case some of you don't know...Gigolos is a reality-show that follows five guys through their professional and personal life in Las Vegas. From partying to getting girls, it's all a part of the show's appeal and in these guys' case, they get paid to do it all. Brace became interested in the show because he knew if could lead to other career goals, "Doors have been opening due to the popularity of the show, you know, endorsements, product lines, a book...I would like to have my own show, that's the road I'm going down now." As he continued to break reality star, duck-like quality stereotypes, we discussed what type of women he's attracted to and who will catch his attention. "I like a woman who is confident and well-spoken. It's easy to see if a woman is grounded and has some self-worth. Some women who get a lot of attention let it go to their head, but a sexy woman is down to earth and kind." Wait, isn't it hard to get normal, respectable dates if people think you are a gigolo? Brace talks about how some women are just curious about what he does and what he's all about, while some women won't get involved at all. But more important than anything he has his family, "My family is very supportive, they love it 100%, and they think it's entertaining so I'm happy with that."
Just like anyone else, regardless of profession, we all have regrets. "I got side-tracked from what I really wanted to do. My master plan when I was in my 20s was to get into acting but then I got a job with a major corporation, making really good money, then I got into real estate, was married for six years, so I had my distractions."
We went on to talk about the most memorable moment in his career journey so far. Brace recalls an episode of the show when he was set up with a client where he had to dress up in drag and how that was completely out of his comfort zone. "We hear the negativity and the criticism but I don't care. I'm having fun and enjoying myself."
From his eccentric and sexy fashion sense, as he likes to call it, to his nutrition and training enthusiasm, Brace Land slaps the average reality-star hoax in the face. He's more than meets the eye. Just because it acts like a gigolo, looks like a gigolo on television, doesn't mean it's just a gigolo.
