The Executive Team of WestPac/Virtus

WestPac and Virtus have emerged as the Rocky Mountain Region’s premier independent wholesale brokers. With a regional feel, our commercial insurance capabilities extend countrywide with binding, brokerage, and program facilities. Our industry knowledge, professional integrity, and superior service allow us to deliver refreshing customer experiences for our agency customers, but also profitable results for our carrier partners. Our leadership team is at the front of these efforts but strongly believe none of WestPac/Virtus’ successes are possible without the committed, tireless efforts of our team.

Rick Richter - President, WestPac

Rick’s career has several unique facets to it. After college, Rick initially joined a regional Workers’ Compensation carrier where he acted as a field underwriter in the Southern United States. Rick regularly reminisces of his first insurance job, notably the fact he put almost 100,000 miles on his company issued Ford LTD in his first year traveling his territory. From there, he had the opportunity to join Lloyd’s of London syndicate in London where he worked on reinsurance treaty arrangements for over four years.

After gaining this experience, Rick returned home to Denver to work with his father’s wholesale/MGA, Richter-Robb. As Richter-Robb eventually sold, he took a hiatus outside of insurance for almost 8 years where he ran a managed healthcare consulting company with several hundred employees until the company eventually sold in 2002.

Afterward, Rick’s heart brought him back into insurance and formed Western Pacific in 2003. His experience, diligent work ethic, and dedication to his employees have grown WestPac to where it is today.

Rick is recognized nationally as an insurance expert in the construction space, proving regularly his ability to produce profitable books of business. He actively testifies on behalf of the construction and insurance industries when various ballot measures are introduced and has a passion for construction because contractors “build the American dream”. Rick’s efforts were recognized in 2014 by Trusted Choice of Colorado with the “Company Person of the Year” award.

Rick is an outdoorsman at heart and a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. He has an unrivaled love for his two families which include his wife and seven children, but also WestPac employees.

Jake Goin - COO/CFO

Jake has been an integral part of developing and growing WestPac since 2004 after gaining his accounting experience from Metro State University and accounting positions at other organizations.

He is currently COO & CFO of both WestPac and Virtus; running daily operations and making sure our employees and clients are well taken care of. He also brokers specific accounts as well to keep his knowledge of the industry sharp and up to date.

Jake enjoys mountain living in Evergreen with his beautiful wife and two great kids.

Jake is a Colorado native and a Bronco fan and spends his free time hunting, fly fishing and mountain biking.

Eric Richter - President, Virtus / VP, Marketing WestPac/Virtus

Eric joined WestPac in January of 2009, shortly after his graduation from the University of Oregon in the Spring of 2008. His studies allowed him to quickly adapt to his role at Western Pacific as a Marketing Representative, tasked with the development of retail agency business.

After a few years of marketing Eric also became intricately involved in underwriting and producing business as well. He eventually moved vertically into a managerial role and developed a larger marketing team for Western Pacific, and was integral in the initial startup of Virtus. Eric now acts as President of Virtus meanwhile still oversees the marketing functions of both companies where he is charged with agency, carrier and program development . Eric’s efforts were recognized by industry peers in 2013 when he received Trusted Choice of Colorado’s “Company Marketing Person of the Year” award, followed by the “Young Insurance Professional of the Year” award in 2014. Eric was also was also nationally recognized in 2019 as an industry “Young Gun” by Insurance Business America.

Eric’s successes are a direct result of the support from his wife and two children. He is also an avid fly fisherman, golfer, hunter, and Oregon Ducks/Denver Broncos fan.

Gloria Jimenez - Executive Vice President

A native Coloradoan Gloria was born and raised in Pueblo. She began her insurance career as an underwriter before focusing on marketing and management. Gloria has worked in the excess and surplus lines insurance industry since 2007. In 2018 Gloria joined WestPac/Virtus, sharing an appreciation for company values that run through deep Colorado roots.

Gloria and her husband Bill are the proud grandparents of Natalie and enjoy taking walks with her and seeing things through her eyes. The family rounds out nicely with daughters Veronica and Andrea, son-in-law Joe and two lovable rescues Chewy and Teddy.

Carlie Genova - VP, Operations & General Manager

Carlie started at WestPac in 2016 after spending 15 years on the retail agency side of the industry. She joined the Executive team in July of 2019 and leads our amazing service team and implements procedures and trainings to ensure we are delivering the highest level of service to our agents. One of her many roles, as Service Manager, allows her to view agents’ business needs from all perspectives. This is invaluable as she helps our agents solve problems and write new business.

Her career in the industry has afforded her many wonderful opportunities. She values the relationships that she's built over the years and feels fortunate for the opportunity to work alongside so many incredible humans.

As a Colorado native, she enjoys all things outdoors, especially when her furry four-legged companion, Lily, can come along!

Dalany Kim - VP, Process Excellence & Compliance

Dalany Kim has been in the insurance industry for 16 years and has held various roles that have contributed to her current position as VP, Process Excellence & Compliance. She is responsible for organizational change initiatives to improve business processes, strategic planning and implementation management. Dalany is also a resource for the service team as she previously managed books of businesses.

After receiving her college degree, she began her career in Life insurance before switching over to Property & Casualty Insurance. She spent a little over a decade on the agency side with two top-rated national brokerage firms. Dalany was a Sales & Marketing Consultant focused on branding efforts before she transitioned into a client management role handling day-to-day servicing needs of insureds. Through client servicing, she built relationships with carriers and vendors, developed coverage knowledge, and helped managed her team’s workflow and processes. Dalany stepped into the insurance wholesale world when she joined WestPac in 2017 and hasn’t looked back.

Dalany is a foodie, an avid traveler, and a lover of animals and occasionally, children. 😊
