2022 is coming... are you ready?
2022 Launch
The Campaign for Attention in the Exhibit Hall
PodiatryMeetings.com will host a campaign in 2022 to drive traffic to the exhibit hall and increase our collective success.

So, here’s our plan… Sarah and I want to capitalize on peer pressure. No, not really. But actually, yes. It works for elections, right? Think of the “I Voted” stickers everywhere!

We are launching a campaign that will include all exhibitors at as many podiatry shows as we can. It’s a small, walking reminder for all other attendees, friends, and colleagues to check out some of the booths and see what’s new. Peer pressure.

Here's how this will work:
  • You request stickers from us, then we send them to you
  • You bring the stickers to any podiatry conference you are exhibiting at
  • You give a sticker to anyone that stops by your booth. Pretty soon the exhibit hall will be buzzing with stickers walking around everywhere!

Together, we can make a difference. Cheesy and cliché, I know, but it’s true. Let’s work together so we can all benefit from the improvements.

Show Specials Are Out
Article written by Ann Dosen
Show specials no longer drive traffic to booths – attendees expect them – so what can you try in 2022 to get attention?

It’s true. Attendees know most companies will be offering some type of sale or promotion at conferences. What now?

The key to attracting visitors to your booth is your pre-show marketing. Whether you prefer to call, fax, email, or send a postcard to attendees, you have to reach out to them before they head to the conference. And not just once, you should be sharing your message with them multiple times prior to the show. Tell them about your show special, invite them to a special activity such as an appreciation event, give them a sneak peek of something new and fun you are showcasing at your booth (featured product or a game)… anything that will get their attention and make them add your booth to their list of things to do while there.

Very much echoing my Tip for Exhibitors from our recent Newsletter, you must communicate with attendees several times, in various ways, before the conference to ensure they come see you. Schedule a few emails, make some phone calls, and send a postcard or two.

We’ve said it before, you cannot rely on the meeting organizers to push people to your individual booth. You need to take responsibility for your success.

In 2022, what steps will you take to ensure you are successful at your shows?

Innovation Theater at SAM2022:
Why You Should Take Advantage of This Opportunity
& How to Maximize Your Investment

Have you heard about the Innovation Theater sessions the FPMA has made available to exhibitors during the upcoming SAM conference? For 2022, the FPMA has added two areas inside the exhibit hall for vendors to present information or demo a product to attendees. They have several time slot options available but the registration deadline is January 10th.

We believe this is an amazing opportunity and we encourage our friends and colleagues to consider adding this to their exhibit plan. No matter if your company is new and looking to make a splash or if you are a loyal veteran supplier, you can make this work for you.
Check out our short video for ideas on how to think outside the box to turn the Innovation Theater session into something that grabs attendee's attention while increasing the amount of quality leads from this conference.
BONUS - if you participate in the Innovation Theaters, you will receive the attendee email list four weeks before the conference! Make sure to use that time to spread the word about your session!

Mindset Buzz
2022 is coming... are you ready?
Article written by Ann Dosen
I don’t know about you, but I am so sick of New Years Resolutions. To me, making a resolution feels like yet another task I must check off my list that means absolutely nothing. If you are one of those people who makes a meaningful resolution and also follows through with it for the year – kudos to you! For real, amazing. I am not one of those people. I get too distracted.

However, I’m not Scrooge when it comes to the New Year. I do believe in reflecting on the past year and also preparing for how you want the next year to go.

So now, as 2021 comes to a close (which is seriously crazy; where did the year go?!), consider these 5 questions to get a head start on making 2022 super awesome.

  • What would I do if I couldn’t fail? Or if I didn’t have any competitors?
  • What are the things I definitely need to cut out and say “no” to in 2022?
  • What are my revenue goals for 2022 and what are the components that will get me there?
  • What processes need to be improved for 2022?
  • What new things do I want to participate in 2022?

Reflect on the answers to these questions and those thoughts and ideas will inspire you to tackle a new year with a plan, not just a resolution.

While you’re at it, come up with a mantra word or phrase you will look to for motivation throughout the year. Here are a few ideas:

“The role of a leader is not to come up with all the great ideas. The role of a leader is to create an environment in which great ideas can happen.”
– Simon Sinek

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”
– Walt Disney (great for people like me who tend to over plan and over think)

Moxie – (my word for 2021 and 2022) courageous spirit and determination; perseverance; force of character, determination, or nerve

BREAKING NEWS!
A brand new advertising opportunity is
available from PodiatryMeetings.com

MY MEETING WORKBOOK
We are offering a unique advertising opportunity in the My Meeting Workbook. This is VERY DIFFERENT from placing an ad in a typical print publication.

Why? Because it’s a tool that DPMs will be engaged with, working through, and coming back to time and time again. DPMs will be using this Workbook to journal pre-meeting goals, take lecture notes, and revisit to create post-meeting action plans. There is also an exhibitor section to take notes of the companies they connect with in the Hall.

Your company can place a full-page ad in the Workbook where you will be noticed as DPMs use this as their meeting journal.

Going to SAM? Come hang with us!
Join us at the Hyatt Regency in the "Rocks" bar at 5:00pm on Thursday, January 27th!

We've mentioned the importance of networking at the hotel bar in the past.

Lingering at the bar after the exhibit hall closes opens up the opportunity to have casual conversations and make connections with people you may not otherwise have a chance to.

So, at the end of a long day in the exhibit hall, pop over to the Rocks bar on Thursday night and take a few moments to "wine" down with us before you head out to dinner or back to your room.
