The Faces of #AbileneStrong
Escapes: Do we dare dream about travel?
By Catharine Hamm, Los Angels Times

"There are lots of bromides I could write here about looking to the future, but I look to the past for inspiration. I am still in awe, almost a year after a visit to the  Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum  in Abilene, Kan., of the future president’s leadership during World War II. Not unlike our war against coronavirus, Eisenhower faced life hanging in the balance in war-ravaged Europe.

"Wherever you are, be well and stay safe, and believe that sometime in the not-so-distant future, we will be here to welcome you home from a wonderful adventure."
Show Your Support
The Abilene Convention & Visitors Bureau, in partnership with  Last Chance Graphics & Apparel , is excited to expand its  #AbileneStrong  campaign!

Signs are available for curbside pickup at Last Chance Graphics Wednesday-Friday at noon.

Like the “We Like Ike” signs, these are suitable for placement in yards or windows.

Stay safe, friends, and let’s show everyone we’re all in this together!
The Brookville Hotel
Everyone, including this fella at  The Brookville Hotel , is taking safety measures to slow the spread and get things back to normal as soon as possible.
Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum
Looking for ways to engage learners of all ages? You can find reading materials, fun puzzles, and even some coloring projects in the Education section of the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum's website.
American Flags
Visitors to Abilene frequently comment on the beautiful American flags lining Buckeye Avenue and NW 3rd Street. The American flags are one of the many wonderful attributes that make our community stand out.

Each year, the City of Abilene's Convention & Visitors Bureau coordinates the American flag project. Flags are placed on poles from I-70 along Buckeye Avenue to the south city limits and from Buckeye west on NW 3rd Street.

American flags will soon be placed, so go for a walk, enjoy the sunshine and see these beautiful flags!
