Valley Forge Elementary School's PTO Newsletter
Issue 11
February 18, 2018
Greetings from the PTO President

Did You Know?
The VFES PTO donated over 43 iPads and cases, four charging stations, 10 Osmo Kits and Coding Kits, 4 Water Filtration Fountains, all the Cultural Arts programs, the 4th grade Artist in Residency program, and the 3rd and 4th grade planners - just to name a few things since the start of the school year!

But we could use more financial support!

The T/E School District is facing a deficit of almost $7 million dollars, and the impact will be felt, even at the elementary level. We want to continue to help VFES and our kids. Future goals of the PTO include playground upgrades, lobby upgrades that are kid friendly. Perhaps a school garden or an outdoor classroom. In addition, we want to continue to support the programs below that the PTO funds in entirety:

Cultural Arts
Our Cultural Arts program insures that each grade receives 2 curriculum specific programs throughout the year, in addition to school wide assemblies. We offered a 4th grade Artist in Residency Program this year, and hope to offer a school wide Artist in Residency program as well next year, in addition to 4th grade.

Technology
The PTO donates most of the technology used in VFES. We believe that technology is an essential tool in the classroom environment, to be able to compete globally.

School Climate
The PTO supports the Falcon 100 Reading program, our teachers and staff, the school community through free socials and Scary Gym - to mention just a few things, all done on a volunteer basis, because we love this school.

From February 14 - February 28, the VFES PTO is conducting the WE LOVE VFES campaign. We are asking every family to send in a monetary (tax deductible) contribution that can be used to helping us achieve our goals.

For each donation that has been received during this campaign (and to date), the VFES PTO will acknowledge the contribution on our website, in the Falcon newsletter, and will receive a leaf on the tree in the lobby thanking your family for showing the love to Valley Forge Elementary.

All checks are to be made payable to: VFES PTO.

Help us reach our goal! The VFES PTO is a 501C3 and your donation is 100% tax deductible!

On behalf of the Valley Forge Elementary PTO, I thank you in advance for your generosity and your continued support of our great school.
