Issue 14
April 8, 2018
Greetings from the PTO President
What can I say? Spring Break was over before I even could say the words.
Now I am looking ahead to the next few weeks, and my calendar is overflowing.
I love Spring but I feel like all of my obligations are coming out of hibernation.

For those of you who take the time to read my little bi-weekly letter, you'll know I am constantly asking (okay - begging) for volunteers. For one simple reason, our amazing school does amazing events. But those amazing events need amazing parents to help. One of our biggest showcases of amazing parents is coming up, our Spring Fair! We need so many parents to help for an hour or two for VFES' biggest fundraiser of the year. Please click here for more information.

Another place I need amazing parents? The PTO Board itself! We have some openings coming up for the 2018/19 school year for the Executive Board. We also have a lot of opportunities for Chairpersons for different positions that can be grade specific or school wide. Want to learn more? Please come to our next meeting this Thursday at 7pm, or email me at [email protected]

Finally, a great way for amazing parents to meet other amazing parents? Join us at our Parents' Night Out on Friday, April 20, from 6-9 pm at LaCabre Brewing Company on the second floor. Davie Gregor, Alexis DiLullo, and Stacey Barry have worked hard on a fun night, even securing childcare at LifeTime for those who may need it. It's $25/child for the night. Please click here for all the details!

I hope to see many of you in the next few weeks!
Kindly,
Heather McConnell

PTO Meeting Thursday, April 12 at 7pm!

Volunteer Help Needed!
Each year the students at VFES are individually recorded singing a song of their choice during music class.  At the end of 4th grade, each student receives a CD with recordings from every year at VFES as a keepsake.  We need your help to ensure that every student is recorded by the end of the school year.  Volunteers will be trained to use the CD recording device and then will choose times to come to school to record students during music classes.  All volunteers must have clearances on file with the district office in order to start.  Please email Amanda Ivory ( [email protected] ) if you are interested in volunteering.  Thank you!
