News You Can Use

Our WKU Office for the Family Child Care Network of Kentucky would like to offer our sincerest thanks and appreciation for our amazing Family Child Care Providers.

Every one of you has put forth an immense amount of time, energy, and love into your child care programs. You are a shining star within your community, many of you offering child care in a child care desert.

Many of you offer specialized care to meet the specific needs within your communities. Many of you offer additional resources to families who need extra love and attention.

We appreciate the time and energy you put into your programs day in and day out, and we are ecstatic to help you maintain your quality programs.

Thank you for everything you do!

Mental Health Awareness Month

Being a Quality Provider means to also take care of yourself while maintaining your child care program. Physically and Mentally. We wear many hats throughout the day: nurse, nutritionist, entertainer, teacher, janitor, accountant, receptionist, therapist, and so many more.

The work day often does not end when that last child goes home, especially when you switch from your child care hat to your family hat. The faster you go through the years without taking time to create your own Mental Health Roadmap, the faster and harder that burnout is going to hit.

Here are some resources that can help you start the Mental Health Journey, but even if you can do one thing for yourself each day, that will make it all the better.
