MVBC Family Happenings
We have just passed our national holiday of Thanksgiving, a time where we gather together and reflect on all we are thankful for. This Sunday, please join us as we talk about something that directly relates to this: UNTHANKFULNESS.
It’s all about us. We deserve everything. We are so proud of ourselves and we proudly acknowledge our own accomplishments. We are lovers of self. In 2 Timothy 3:1-9, Paul warns Timothy of the way people will behave in the last days before Christ’s return. People will love themselves only, seek money, elevate themselves, exploit other people, and hate goodness while pretending to be religious. Being unthankful may not be something we actively think about, but it’s the opposite of humbleness. Let’s come together and learn what God has to teach us about being unthankful and why God wants us to be thankful, as thankfulness expresses our humbleness before Him.
Faith Promise Giving
It's time to return your Faith Promise Giving card and place it in the offering box. The funds are directed to the missionaries we partner with as a church. This is an offering by faith above your regular tithe/giving. You will not be contacted regarding your gift; Faith Promise giving is a commitment you make between yourself and the Lord.
Wednesday Advent Series
While we always need to be reminded of Jesus, the Christmas season provides a great opportunity to celebrate the coming of Christ. Whether Christmas is a time of sadness, indifference, stress, or joy, for you, it is a time to look to Jesus. The church throughout history has celebrated Advent to help remind and refocus our hearts on Jesus while good things such as gifts, family, food, and ornaments threaten to distract us.
Beginning on November 30, our church will be celebrating Advent on Wednesday nights for four weeks. Please come out to worship Jesus and to center your affection on Him by remembering His coming two thousand years ago, and looking forward to His future coming where He will make all things right.
Ladies' Christmas Fellowship
Our Ladies' Christmas Fellowship is Friday, December 9, at 6:30 p.m. Our guest speaker is Sarah Clouse from Restore Church in Goffstown, NH. Besides the fellowship, food, and music, we are now collecting items for the Southern New Hampshire Rescue Mission Women's Shelter. There will be gift tags on a tree in the foyer for the needed items or you may contact Liann Wilkins for donation suggestions. Donations are welcomed at any time and can be dropped off at the office during the week until Thursday, December 8. Sign up here for the event.
Church Business Meeting and Pie & Soup Fellowship
We will be holding our church business meeting on Sunday, December 11, after the second service. Please plan to stay for the meeting, we will need a quorum for the vote.

Our church business meeting on Sunday, December 11, will include time for lunch. We are planning a Pie & Soup Fellowship at the business meeting. Please contact Andrew Higgins if you can bring soup or pie to share or if you can help with setup or serving.
Senior Saint's Christmas Brunch
We are planning our next event. We will be gathering at the MVBC Annex on Saturday, December 17, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Please plan to bring a $5 gift (gag gift or not) for a Yankee Swap/White Elephant exchange! There will be a sign-up sheet at the Connection Desk or you may email Pastor Jeff. Please bring a dish to share and be sure to sign up; we need to have enough tables and chairs for everyone.
