MVBC Family Happenings
There is an old song entitled, “To Know Him Is to Love Him.” Maybe you can recall the tune on your own, but to help you, here are some of the lyrics.
“To know, know, know him
Is to love, love, love him.
Just to see him smile
Makes my life worthwhile.
To know, know, know him
Is to love, love, love him.
And I do.”
This song was made famous by the Teddy Bears in 1959. My, how songs have changed. My reason for reminding you about this song is simply that its words reflect a desire to know someone and by knowing this person, life has meaning. This song has nothing to do with Christianity or our walk with Jesus Christ, but as we study 1 John 2:3-11, we are challenged to know if we know Jesus. In the simplest of terms, our study this Sunday will direct us to this statement, “To know Jesus, is to love others.” The words may not evoke a number one hit on the music charts, but John tells us that if we obey Jesus and love others, we are mature in our faith. What is your maturity level? Please join us this Sunday for corporate worship!
