MVBC Family Happenings
I am thrilled to have the privilege of preaching at Merrimack Valley Baptist Church for the quarterly Mission Focus Sunday. Obviously, MVBC is a church with a rich heritage of mission involvement. I count it a true honor to serve as the Executive Director for IBMGlobal and lead it into an era of continued vibrancy and fruitfulness.
So, what can you expect in this week’s Mission Focus Sunday?
We will be having two regular services just like we do every Sunday. This week, I will be preaching the same message in both services, so please go to the website to register for the service that works best for your family’s schedule.
The sermon for this Sunday is entitled, “A Commission Worth Repeating” and it is the first in a series that I am developing entitled, “Getting Back to the Basics of Missions.” We will explore three key ingredients for effective missions' ministry found in the passages where Christ issued what we affectionately refer to as The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:15-18, Luke 24:46-48, John 20:19-21, Acts 1:8).
What can we possibly hear about the Great Commission that we haven’t already heard?
I know what many of you are thinking, “Great. Another sermon on the Great Commission? Not again!” If that is what crossed your mind, I totally understand, but please don’t tune out. Often the most fascinating and essential things we need to see in life are right in front of our very eyes, but due to familiarity, we simply don’t see them. This Sunday should be an exciting time that sheds a new and deeper light on what is a familiar topic to many of us, but one that we all need fresh reminders of in order to fulfill our purpose on this earth. See you Sunday!
Join us for one of our two Sunday morning in-person services at 8:45 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. or watch online at 10:30 a.m. here. Our Children's Church is at 10:30 a.m. On Wednesdays, join us for our in-person Wednesday Bible Study at 6:45 p.m. in the Chapel. Seating is limited for each of these in-person services, so be sure to sign up at! The 10:30 a.m. Sunday service, Children's Ministries videos, Adult Bible Study on Wednesdays, and Teen Life, will still be available online for those worshiping from home as well.
SMCA would like to bless those who are working in the healthcare field throughout our communities. Our secondary students will create art which will be digitized into cards of thanks and encouragement. These cards will then be sent to the healthcare workers we would like to bless. This is where they need your help. Please send names and workplaces of those whom you would like to bless to Alanna Beaulieu by clicking on her name. This opportunity will be available for a couple of weeks, so please send these to her as soon as possible.
Our spring Sunday School classes begin March 7, at 8:45 a.m. To sign up online, click here.
The Ladies Sunday School class will be studying the attributes of God through Psalms 119. We will be using the methods learned in past studies written by Mardi Collier and Jen Wilkin as we focus on discovering a deeper understanding of God.  We would love for you to join us even if you have never attended a Bible study.  The class will be facilitated by Kerry Parsons. Class will start Sunday, March 7, at 8:45 a.m., via Zoom. Sign up here
Also beginning on March 7, Financial Peace University (FPU) is the nine-lesson class which will teach you how to pay off debt, save money, and invest for your future. You’ll also connect with others, just like you who can hold you accountable, encourage you, and celebrate your progress! Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. on Zoom and usually last about 45 to 60 minutes. We’ll watch the videos on our own and meet together for discussion and activities. Click here to sign up. Please purchase course materials at this link.
Lord willing, we plan to offer another Sunday School class in-person and via Zoom. Stay tuned for more details!
We have organized our deacon flock assignments for 2021. The deacons should be reaching out to their flocks in the coming weeks. If you do not hear from your deacon, please feel free to contact the Church Office. We may need to update your contact information.
Our desire is to assist one of our supported missionary families, the Bixbys in Sarselles, France, with their current financial need to purchase the space they've been renting for their ministry. The Bixbys have been able to raise a significant amount of funds; however, we would like to be a blessing to them. We are looking to raise $18,000. To donate to the Bixby's Building Fund online, click here. As of today, we have raised $14,842. Please mark any cash/check donations, "Bixby's Building Fund." For a review of the presentation to the church, please click here.
It's time to return your bottles for the Real Options Baby Bottle Drive. You may drop off your bottle at the table at the back of the Multipurpose Room. If you were not able to pick up a baby bottle you can still support Real Options by visiting their website and donate online by clicking here. If you designate your church affiliation as Merrimack Valley Baptist Church your donation will count towards our drive total.
You can still worship through giving from home. You may either mail checks to P.O. Box 606, Nashua, NH, 03061 or donate online here. To view giving information for last week, click here.
Serving the Savior and You,
