The Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter

Lord Jesus, we are grateful that you raised and trusted Saint Peter to lead the Church in the world. Saint Peter now lives happily in heaven with you and the Father and all the saints. We ask for his intercession now to always pray for his successor, for Pope Francis, and all of us, the Church of Christ, who are still on pilgrimage in this world. We pray that our faith will always be solid as rock and we will always be eager to share the Good News of Christ to anyone who does not know Christ, or those whose faith has been dwarfed by worldly things. You are our Good Shepherd, Lord Jesus, and there is nothing we shall want. For you are God, forever and ever.
